Now that you mention it, I'm dead tired and ready for bed.

Dreaming is just a caching of the egocentric mind and the attachments that go come with it.
To die, will be just like waking up, to wake up, is just like dying. It is all one and the same and consciousness is eternal.

Not sleep per se but a coma or being put under before an operation, I'd say yes, that's the same as being dead. Complete blackout and lack of consciousness. You literally don't exist in any meaningful way.

Except that when you sleep, you are dreaming. But when you are not dreaming its like you don't exist. You still have a subconscious and a stored memory even when you're not dreaming. It would be interesting though to know if there is some thought activity when you're sleeping but not dreaming though.

I wonder if those who live near graveyards ever complain about dead people snoring.

When you are unconscious nothing exists so its the same, only that death is eternal. No. Your heart is still beating, your lungs are still breathing, and you brain is still working when you sleep. None of that works when you are dead.

Of course all that is going on but I meant for your mind/consciousness, you are unaware that you are a sleep therefore nothing exists (for you) while you are unconscious.

People dream when they sleep. Not when they are dead.

In a dream, you still can hear, see, feel, etc., right? You don't know you're dreaming until you wake up. That's how being alive is too. We don't know this is a dream until we 'wake up'.

Except that when you sleep, you are dreaming. But when you are not dreaming its like you don't exist. When you are asleep, you are dreaming. That's the difference between unconsciousness and sleeping.
Most of the time you're simply not remembering the dream.
