Simple, home-made pizza you can make by using pieces of Texas Toast Garlic Bread (no need to make, or buy, pizza dough):

The basic idea is pretty simple and lends itself to any sort of topping you want. Me, I don't like pepperoni, so I would use a different topping - probably mushrooms and mild sausage.

Thanks, ZR. It sounds "good 'n easy." I'll try it.
I've never tried Texas Toast, or any of the thick sliced breads. Is the texture the same/similar to other commercial sliced breads? If so, wouldn't the ingredients toppings be absorbed, and run down through the bread?

This thread reminds me how much I miss the Appian Way pizza kits that used to appear on supermarket shelves.

I would imagine a thicker pizza sauce (rather than a thin, watery one?) would probably be advisable.
I like mushrooms on pizza, but in this case, I would sauté them first and make sure any liquid was drained off of them before putting them on the TT.

Looks GREAT and I've had that Texas Toast Garlic Bread before. I LOVE pepperoni and would put LOADS and LOADS of GARLIC on it. Spicy sausage (such as andouille) would be WAY BETTER.

Haha I already do that! I use bread then put on ketchup and my pizza toppings and heat it in an oven.

The ones I remember were popular in the 60's and came in 2 sizes. I still have several of the baking pans that you could send away for and still use them for various things today.

I used to take a bite or two of the Texas toast after I moved to Texas in 2001. Now I just leave it on my plate.
