I honestly believe that the 1986 James Cameron Movie "ALIENS" has got to be 1 of the Top 5 (maybe even Top 3) GREATEST Science Fiction-Action Movies of All-Time.
What does everybody else here that is a Fan of it think ?

I re-watched it a couple of years ago and it still holds up well, albeit having a definite "Cameron feel" to it...and I'm not a huge fan of his, so that ain't a good thing. Still very suspenseful though, and a worthy predecessor to the original, which it comes close to but doesn't quite reach that level.

Terrific film that had held up well.
Although some of those rear projection shots are obvious.

It’s beautiful, man. The last act of the movie is just fucking incredible.

Oh I agree and I would even say that it is one of the best sequels of all time. In the top 3 at least. As far as I am concerned, this is where the franchise ends. Newt, Hicks and Rip all make it safely back to earth where they become a family together. A3 and A4 are nightmares of Rip and anything after that just dosen't exist.

It looks and feels very much like a war movie set in outer space. Apparently, Cameron had originally wanted to make a Starship Troopers movie and you can definitely see how that mindset influenced how he went about concocting this film.
I'd class it as the best of the sequels by a wide margin. What I especially love about it is that it approaches the subject matter from an entirely different perspective to the earlier film. Alien was an atmoshpheric chiller, whereas Alien is a gung-ho action movie laced with horror. Utterly different types of movies. And yet it still complements Scott's movie quite nicely. It's the best science fiction-oriented action flick of the 80s.

Both films have a distinct feel, vibe, tone and style to them, and they both work so well because of that. Overall though, I like the original better for said feel, vibe, tone and style.
Aliens was more into the heroic type which is fun, but overshadows the true horror of the first film a tiny bit. It isn’t even my favourite Cameron film tbh.

It's worth a view just to see Paul Reiser get killed.

I just Absolutely Love this Whole Part below in the Movie when the Marines first enter the Alien Hive, Find the Missing Colonists, Get Ambushed by the Aliens, and then Fail when they try to escape from the Planet.

I'm old enough to have seen this in the movies. When Ripley came out in the loader and said "Get away from her you bitch!" the whole theater was like "YEAH!". One of my top movie moments.

Generally I am a fan of his, but I have one or two quibbles myself, so I wonder if they're the same ones...

Most quotable movie of all time IMO.
Also the best sequel of all time.
