I love wolves. I love their sociology, the way they hunt. I love the mythology. I also love how they have a unique relationship with ravens. Ravens will follow wolf packs to clean up after their kills, but are often seen playing with them.
I also love sharks, especially great white sharks. They're just so graceful and powerful. I always wanted to do a cage dive, but now I'd just settle for seeing a feed. No, not like this woman in the video. She's crazy.

I've always had a thing for wolves. When I was a little kid I would watch a werewolf movie and then have nightmares. Then my mother would tell me I couldn't watch any more werewolf movies. Three days later I'd be begging her to let me watch another werewolf movie on tv. White Fang was one of my favorite books,
Bears - I grew to love bears after two encounters in the wild. Nothing bad, though. It was just a thrill to be in the presence of something so powerful, yet it can also be gentle.
Pine Martens - the cutest little killers in the forest.

I haven't read White Fang in years. I loved that book. That little critter you posted is adorable, but I'm sure would near kill me if I try to pet it, lol.

National Geographic runs an internet live safari twice a day and "met" families of hyenas and leopards and watched the birth of several wildebeasts (Gnus) ..then there are the giraffes and elephants, rhinos and hippo.... More locally ? Coyotes, wolves, racoons and groundhogs (when they are not in the house or under the garage) …. Squirrels. Chipmunks, red fox. The grey fox that visits the campsite in Texas and climbs the tree and the Javalinas. and then there's all the birds ! and jelly fish and seahorses and toads and frogs

Carl Brenders is one of my favorite wildlife artists, this is Lookout Tower, celebrating the return of wolves to Yellowstone. Rats, the image won't show, I'll try a link... carlbrendersart.com/prints/wildlife-2/lookout-tower-wolves-by-carl-brenders/I got to see the ORIGINAL ART at Southeastern Wildlife Exhibition in Charleston, South Carolina about ten years ago. It is painted in gouache, a kind of opaque watercolor.

Oh, he is a cutie! My friend is a wildlife artist, I will try to post one of her black bears here... Wow, it worked! The artist, Vivian Boswell, exhibits her work every year at SEWE also.

I've seen that before where a pic shows up as a black x. I have no idea why that happens.

Those are lovely! There's something so fascinating about wild dogs. It's hard for me to look at my pug mix and imagine that is where she came from, lol.

That, she is! I would like to post a picture of a bunny, but Catman 猫的主人 might be disturbed by the picture of a lagomorph! Edit: Ooops, somebody already posted a bunny!

Not sure if its my favorite but when I was on vacation in Minnesota ("Land of 10,000 Lakes") I saw a bald eagle do this. It was amazing to watch in real life.

Cats are the best wildlife.
As for those lagomorphs: Don't you people realize what they're up to? Any day now, they're going to rise up, and life will change forever.

Oh! Oh! Oh! Cuteness fest! I love the one in the little cable knit hat! I have a bunny, he is a domestic something-or-other, but looks like a wild bunny. I got him from Animal Control; apparently, his former owner thought he could survive in the wild. He's a wonderful pet, Honey Bunny, but the friend who feeds him when I am on vacation calls him "Velocirabbit", like a velociraptor dinosaur - she claims that he bites her! She just doesn't have the proper attitude!

My local zoo has two of them because they both have wing injuries that prevent them from flying. They are amazing up close.

Yeah, we will be surrounded by CUTENESS! Don't worry, Catman, Honey Bunny is kept in a large hutch, he can't get out to do anything, nor can my cats do anything to him, except gaze at him while he eats kibble.

I've always been a big fan of loons... unlike many sea birds, they're calmed, calming, & pretty f'n majestic. They're also nature's greatest soundtrack... because unlike wolves miles away, loon callings on a lake lets the sound effortlessly wave all over. They also have a silhouette like a spy. They're also abundant in Ontario where I live so yeah ftw.
