The NBA has followed through on a public desire by Commissioner Adam Silver to take steps to lower the leagueβs age minimum to 18, according to a person with knowledge of the matter not authorized to speak publicly. Over All-Star weekend, the NBA delivered a proposal to the playersβ union detailing the proposal, which would move the league in the direction of removing the so-called βone-and-doneβ rule for college basketball players. www.latimes.com/sports/nba/la-sp-nba-draft-age-limit-20190221-story.html

I think kids benefit greatly from playing in college (even if they're just their for sports).
That being said, if a kid is dead set against it (see Ben Simmons), DeMarcus Cousins just came out and blasted the '1 and done' as has Rockets GM Daryl Morey - to me it makes '0' sense to twist a kids arm and tell him he has to spend a year at school - just so he can hop to the NBA next season.
The G League it seems has been gaining a lot of steam in the press lately. Morey came out yesterday and stated any G League team would blow Duke out by 20 on a nightly basis.
I think we're going to start to the G (formerly D) League start to blossom a bit after all of these years if this rule goes through.

I say lower it to 12. Can't wait to hear the talking heads on ESPN tell me about a ten year old kid's upside in a few years.

The minimum age of the kids making their shoes is still set at 6.

The minimum age of the kids making their shoes is still set at 6. That's a conservative estimate. Surely there's a 4 year old inhaling chemicals somewhere in that factory. He's sending half of his paycheck to mom because Bob Kraft is a bad tipper.

I think we're going to start to the G (formerly D) League start to blossom a bit after all of these years if this rule goes through. The g league is pretty lame, tho. Morey is a bit of a clown. It's semi-lame now. Good spot for kids who got drafted who are sitting on the bench to get some playing time to refine their skills. It's also a great spot for a kid to go down and rehab an injury before getting called back up to the big squad (see Sixers #1 pick Zhaire Smith) But an influx of kids - who don't attend college and then go straight to the G League? To me - that is rather intriguing. Imagine all of these 1 and done kids - instead of playing for the Dukes and Kentucky's of the world - instead go to the G League. It's the why I find the AAF in a bit intriguing right now. Polian is smart guy - he's positioning his league to pretty much be a 'minor league' for the NFL.
