I’m not even especially excited about the movie, but all this drama surrounding the film and Brie Larson is just about the most obnoxious thing on the planet. It almost makes me wish the movie would make more than Black Panther, if for no reason other than to see how these clickbaity YouTube channels would overreact to it.
Seriously, why is some baby faced actress attracting so much scorn? Because she’s an SJW or whatever? Who the fuck cares? Guess what? So are Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson. At this point, I’m more sick of the anti-SJW crowd than I am of SJWs.

Yeah, she hasn't paid any to beat her up for publicity so I've no issues with her atm.

She's a political moron but so is 90% of the rest of Hollywood. I don't watch movies for the stars' politics, I watch for entertainment.

Oh believe me, some of the conservative ones have no idea what they are talking about either. But it's getting to where you can count Hollywood conservatives on your fingers so I don't give them much thought.

I find the outrage/controversy entertaining. It seems like almost every year there's always something stupid that gets way over blown and both sides end up looking ridiculous.
In 2015 there was the whole bit with Mad Max Fury Road and how "feminist have hijacked Mad Max!!" Because of the female lead.
In 2016 you had the Ghostbusters remake. A film that should have been ignored but the fanboys had to throw a hissy fit and the cast and crew played a victim card hoping to get sympathy support.
In 2017, and possibly the biggest one, The Last Jedi which not only cause a big fan boycott of the franchise but also brought Gamergaters (lol) back in the spotlight thanks to Rian Johnson.

She has no one to blame but herself I mean, there was drama for the movie before people decided to get offended about her press tour comment. Plus, she’s hardly the only Marvel actor who’s outspoken about her political views.

While it's true that other MCU actors have been vocal about their political views, I don't recall any of them ever using their movie as a vehicle for their political views.

There was also all those complaints about Danny Rand not being Asian, the backlash against Henry Cavill for describing his traditional courtship ideals, the criticisms against James Bond for being too misogynistic, and of course the infamous James Gunn incident. People get more sensitive by the year and keep finding more and more stuff to complain about.

Maybe she can wait until after the film is released before pontificating to everyone about her high morality. We haven’t even had a chance to appreciate the character yet we hear her SJWing herself everywhere. If that’s the publicity she wants, fine. But it’s our choice whether we watch the film. We may be suckers for the MCU, but not for her character yet.
We get enough SJWing from all directions. We don’t need to be brow-beaten by an entertainer most audiences have yet to appreciate. And much of her sentiments are considered by many to be flawed.
I think most of us believe in equality. But the current emphasis on privilege and quotas is IMO a transient one. Those who fall for it risk looking foolish in the future when it is considered redundant.

Those who fall for it risk looking foolish in the future when it is considered redundant. Yeah I have no problem people hating on her comments or even choosing not to see the film because they don't particularly like the actress. But going onto Captain Marvel's Rotten Tomatoes page and "reviewing" the things she's said in the media just doesn't make any sense. It has nothing to do with the film.
There are plenty of places like Twitter, Facebook, IMDb v2, and really probably millions of places on the internet to voice their opinion about Brie Larson. Going to RT and complaining about it is like going to the Days of Future Past page and talking about accusations against Bryan Singer. That's so wildly irrelevant to the quality of a film that it's just annoying.
It's basically the exact same problem anti-SJW people have. They don't want to go to the movies and be preached to... well I don't want to go to a fucking movie review site and be preached to either! Lol.
