As interesting as that would be, I highly doubt it lol. But I was also doubtful it'd get nominated.

Got three overall. And the world didn't self destruct. Still. I really expected either Roma or The Favourite to win.

11 years and 20 movies and still no major (acting, directing, producing, or writing) Oscar wins for MCU.

black panther not getting any nomination in writing, directing, screenplay or even cgi for a sci fi fantasy film is something that should never happy again for the oscar's own credibility.

Um... can you explain the whole thing again? With all due respect, your spellings and grammar are even worse than mine.

Yeah, it's not like other comic book movies have won Best Picture, right? What's that, none haven't? Because Black Panther is the first.

Well a movie about a black boxer won right?
So if there were no other black action guy movies, BP would have won for sure.

A major Oscar win is a win in a non-technical category, such as acting, directing, producing, or writing. For example, Heath Ledger winning Best Supporting Actor is a major Oscar win.

The Dark Knight wasn't nominated for Best Picture. Well back then they didn't have as many nominees. They only used to have 5 but now they have 8 so it's easier to be nominated.

TDK wont have been nominated today anymore than Logan would have for best picture. these movies may be superior but they are not diverse enough neither do their studios have the power that disney has to influence the oscars throuugh ABC disney owns.
I think the diversity push will fade out with time and the oscars will get back to awarding on merit..at least many of the times as they have done in the past.
