I thought the Favorite was going to win for Original Screenplay. Eh, let Nick Vallelonga have that one.

Congrats, Spike Lee! It must've been years since he won his last Oscar.

Was rooting for BlacKkKlansman. Was thinking it'd go to Can You Ever Forgive Me?.

Congrats, Spike Lee! It must've been years since he won his last Oscar. It's actually his first, not counting an honorary one. Also the first Oscar win for Peter Farrelly...

What I hope for most is that tonight's broadcast would replay one of the most charming moments in Oscar night history--Stanley Donen's acceptance speech (and song and dance) at the 1998 show--as a tribute to the late director. They probably won't, though, because some forgettable production number or long-winded political rant will take up too much time. They'll probably even leave him out of the In Memoriam. Damn, you were right.

If Bohemian Rhapsody wins Best Picture over both Roma and the Favourite, I'll consider it just as much as a failure on the part of Academy voters as when Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan.

At least he's self-aware about one thing.
