It's got a lot more action and a lot more exciting plays. In comparison football is super boring. 3 and out. Punt. Repeat over and over again. FG. Big deal. Run it in for the TD and just break the plane. Not as exciting as a slam dunk or a fast break or a 3 point shot. Football has only about 15 total minutes of action. Hoops has more than that. Much more. They don't just stand around most of the time while the clock runs down.

I think the thing that makes the NFL at this point superior (more enjoyable) is there's only 16 games.
I'm a huge proponent of axing 2 preseason games and extending it to 18.
So it's kind of like every game counts.
I'm all for reducing the NBA, NHL, MLB seasons.

You mean as opposed to the foul and time-out fest that makes the end of a basketball half more painful than root canal? How dumb is a sport where what should be the most exciting part of a game is nothing but fouls, free throws, and time outs? It’s unwatchable.

I'd argue that's what makes the MLB appealing to some - the chess match at the end of the game - with constant pitching changes - visits to the mound - a pitcher or batter calling 'time'.....

At least they play until the buzzer unlike football where they take a bunch of knees. Hell, we see teams running out onto the field before the clock expires. I dunno what hockey is like but baseball they play as best they can until the final out.

Lots of folks are saying how boring this year's SB was. And I agree. I have yet to see the same observation even for just one B.Ball game.

And they aren’t popular in the USA either.

Anyone with the basic athleticism to stick on a CBB or NBA team can jump that high. 5'3" Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues won the Slam Dunk competition. If you can jump that high, you can stuff a basketball in a basket. Admittedly, some are better than other for artistic merit. Julius Erving, Mike Jordan up to Zion Williamson. But a normal dunk isnt that awe inspiring.

For me, basketball is far and away the dullest of the big 4 North American sports.

Fixed. Wow. Come up to my office sometime and I’ll stuff pieces of scrap paper in my garbage can. About as challenging as a 6’11” NBA player stuffing a basketball

There is zero drama in the NBA. When was the last time that even a third seed won the title?

Basketball actually is more popular than American Football worldwide.

The end of a basketball half is less exciting than a scrabble tournament. Lots of folks are saying how boring this year's SB was. And I agree. I have yet to see the same observation even for just one B.Ball game. That's partly because no one basketball game matters as much of any one football game. And because this is said about loads of basketball games all the time. The common complaints of about basketball is the above; that the last few mins are typically, painfully boring with nothing but stopping the clock with bull shit fouls out of futile desperation; and that you only need to watch the 4th quarter anyway.
