Amy Adams (born August 20 (Leo), 1974 (age 44), Vicenza, Italy)
Ashley Johnsten in Phil Morrison's 'Junebug' (2005)
Sister James in John Patrick Shanley's 'Doubt' (2008)
Charlene Fleming in David O. Russell's 'The Fighter' (2010)
“She’s not very spectacular in real life. She’s just sort of… there. Turn the camera on her and it’s lighting a very large firework. It’s a gigantic explosion of talent and skill and creativity and charisma. She’s my favorite, as you can tell. She’s never not surprising. The same girl did ‘The Fighter’ and ‘The Master’ and ‘The Muppets’? Give me a break. She can do absolutely anything—and better than anyone.”
- Paul Thomas Anderson
"Perfect isn't normal, nor is it interesting. I have no features without makeup. I am pale. I have blond lashes. You could just paint my face - it's like a blank canvas. It can be great for what I do."
- Amy Adams
Peggy Dodd in Paul Thomas Anderson's 'The Master' (2012)
Sydney Prosser in David O. Russell's 'American Hustle' (2013)
Lynne Cheney in Adam McKay's 'Vice' (2018)
"Amy has cannily managed this better than most, partly because of her unflagging, good-natured work ethic, but mostly because of a level-headed, uninflated sense of herself, her priorities and what is real and what is b*llshit. She has a geiger counter of a b*llshit meter, and for such a polite person is not afraid to hold it up to the bloated face of this business and let us all hear the ticking as loud as she does. She won't perform what is not real, and she won't say what is not true."
- Meryl Streep
"I'd love to be a diva. But I'd then have to send so many apology notes for my abhorrent behaviour."
- Amy Adams
Good luck tonight, Amy!!

Anyone think she might be a surprise upset?

Anyone think she might be a surprise upset? Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz from 'The Favoirite' could cancel each other out so I'd possibly take them out of the equation. I'm guessing Regina King for 'If Beale Street Could Talk' is the favorite and 'Roma' is trending for Best Picture so Marina De Tavira can't be discounted. But on Amy Adams' side is that she's been here before and some voters might think this is her time. Still, I'm going with King for the win.

Her presence can only improve a movie.

Any other year I'd be rooting for Amy, but Regina is gonna get It!

One of my top three or four favorites. She'll probably win thirty years from now, playing some grand dame or something.

Her presence can only improve a movie.
Exactly!
her attractiveness (of which not many can even challenge her) and general likeability/warm presence make her stand out

Amy is extremely disappointing about losing yet another year where she was nominated. To cheer herself up she will be visiting me in CHAD. I will wear my white dinner jacket and have a red rose waiting for her in my lapel. We will have a very romantic evening.
Edit- I hope you betas are enjoying posting pics of her in this thread. I don't need to because I get to enjoy the real thing up close. Chad life.
