I shed real tears when the Yankees moved and they tore down that beautiful, historic stadium.

I was there in 1965. Way out in right field, under the bleachers, behind a pole. Bat day. I got a bat signed by Buddy Barker. Mantle's backup.

What you are missing in this photo is the space between the Right Field seats and the bleachers.
Anyone riding the #4 train to or from the upper Bronx could see the almost entire field from the NYC subway.
The Polo Grounds was one stop away, if you changed subway lines at 161st St.

What you are missing in this photo is the space between the Right Field seats and the bleachers. Anyone riding the #4 train to or from the upper Bronx could see the almost entire field from the NYC subway. The Polo Grounds was one stop away, if you changed subway lines at 161st St. nice! 😎
