I cut my cable 10 years ago in favor of rabbit-ears, and later Netflix/Hulu/Amazon. One of the channels I missed the most was Comedy Central...because whether it was a full blown special, or a bit part on something like "Premium Blend," I got to get a taste of lots of new comedians. Later, I'd track down their specials.
Netflix has been cranking out comedy specials like crazy in the last few years. I've watched more than a few and have enjoyed seeing some new faces. So who are your favorites? I know we all (broad brush painting here) like our Carlin, Pryor, Wright, Murphy, Hedburg, Kinnison, Chapelle, etc. Not turning my nose up at the greats, but who are your favorite modern comedians, still touring/working/writing today?
Mine are:
Bill Burr - This guy is hilarious. I love his raciness, voice, and ability to call himself an asshole once in a while. He's also impressive on "F is for Family", a Netflix animated series. It does the 'adult cartoon' thing in a similar vein of something like "Bojack Horseman." I haven't seen a standup special of his (one of many) that didn't make me laugh.
Iliza Schelsinger - She surprised the hell out of me. My wife and I alternate picking stand-up. I follow the names and have at least a little bit of an understanding of the scene and who's on it. She picks completely randomly. Iliza was a refreshing new face I'd never seen nor heard of before. Don't know how she flew under my radar for so long. She's hilarious.
Always looking for new ones. The sheer amount of them out there makes it hard to keep up.
Who are your favorite new/modern stand-up comedians?

Bill Burr
Jim Jeffries
Bert Kreischer
Edit...I never really think to break down styles of stand up comedians...I kinda just go by if they make me laugh. But Jeffries usually has politically motivated comedy (gun control, religion, vaccination) and Bert has stories (like how he went on a field trip to Russia and got involved in the Russian mob)

I thoroughly dislike all the modern comedians, and have for a lot of years. My tastes are still in the old school with names such as, Rodney Dangerfield and George Carlin.
