The Hustler (1961)
This is one of my favorite films and probably Newman’s Own best performance...as well as Gleason’s. When he played Fast Eddie Felson again for Scorsese’s The Color of Money and won an Oscar, I suspect the voters had the younger Fast Eddie in mind too...like, he shoulda won back then.
