In their infinite, ineffable wisdom and legitimacy the Academy recognized Into the Spiderverse as Sickest Animated Flick last night, which is by far the most prestigious and greatest achievement any Marvel film property or adaptation has ever attained.
Guys, I'm proud of Into the Spiderverse.
ETA: Innit? Or it innit?

Its the spiderman we needed after the Holland sitcom I maintain that Holland is actually playing Miles Morales and that it was only at the behest of Disney that they renamed him Peter Parker in final drafts. It makes everything about the choice of actor, his terrible performances, and the total disconnect from really any prior version of Peter make perfect (Spider-)sense.

I still haven't seen it. I'll probably give it a watch when it comes out on DVD or something.

I love me some Tom Holland, but Into the Spider-Verse was damn near the best Spider-Man film of all time.
I know people claim that the Black Panther nom for Best Picture made the Oscars irrelevant or "worthless" (I disagree) but I'd argue those Bohemian Rhapsody wins did that... but that the SMITSV (do the initials of Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse almost spell out Spits Venom?) win gave them back that sweet sweet relevance again.
Also I'm going to forever drop the 'M' and call that film 'SPITSV' now. Or maybe the 'V' stands for something more provocative.. and that the movie SPITS on the V and makes it orgasm.. or maybe I should go back to the original SMITSV because it makes the 'V' so damn SMITTEN.
Go home ChangeApproved you're drunk.. oh shit.. I am home..

Second animated movie based on a Marvel comic to win the award, the last was Big Hero 6 in 2015.

Compared to a lot of comic book movies these day those are much better. You are proving how bias you are,you can't be happy for sony being successful.

Hmmm, nope, unless if you're comparing them to 2015's Fantastic Four I suppose they are much better, but that's, like, one movie? What bias? You don't see me angry at Spider-Verse winning its Oscar, it was a great movie so I'm happy it got this kind of appreciation. Sony can make good movies, never said otherwise, their management of acquired properties can be questionable at times however.
