spiderwort "So I don't really know what it is - just something to have fun with, I guess."
So far so good. Titles, which are usually rather short and lack substance, don't lend themselves to complete sentences, with, or without, the occasional comma. This is the problem I have had. It's rather a surprise when they actually do make even limited sense. Rules are made to be broken (occasionally)in any case, eh ?

So the so-called 'rules' are not followed specifically -- do we really care?
The only important things are that posters are being creative and are having a good time and that people are enjoying and laughing at them.
God bless Spider and all those who sail on her threaded ship.

(Thank goodness spider didn't specify that the sentences had to make much sense.) Oh, Doghouse, you did it beautifully. And (LOL), part of the fun for me has been that the sentences don't always make much sense, but they are very entertaining and, dare I say, thought-provoking.You're being so generous, I'll resurrect a couple I'd first rejected: A Night To Remember the Night Of the Following Day For Night after Night and Day of the Animals She's Working Her Way Through College Rhythm On the River Of No Return To the Blue Lagoon Maybe I'll try combining both approaches: joining and overlapping: Don't Look Now; He Knows You're Alone In the Dark Passage To Marseille Don't Bother To Knock On Any Door; Because Of You, Elvis Has Left the Building If I Were King Of the Underworld, I'd Rather Be Rich and Famous (Hey, those actually do make some kind of sense!)

spiderwortAw heck, spiderwort, the people who are a-fussing about the rules are not the ones who are actively "playing" .. it was / is a great idea and it's working out just fine as far as I can see. That one guy wandered in, bellyached about the rules being broken, contributed nothing and vanished (with his tar and feathers unused )...poof ! And as for Quiz Master Mattgarth. Games like this give HIM a chance to PLAY too. It never seems quite fair that he does the work of making the GarthGames and the players get to " play it". So to quote the other QM aka game-maker "God bless Spider and all those who sail on her threaded ship." Hip Hip Horray !

That one was to prove that it can be done, wasn't it ? Showoff ! In case anyone peeks and assumes I am serious - I am kidding!

Stairway to Heaven Can Wait Until Dark Amazing learning how many titles use "the" as the first word. What WERE they thinking ? I'm thinking about adding a (#) if more than 2 titles used ... dumb idea ? Like this one would be a (3), spiderwort

You guys have been doing incredibly well (!!) and it's been a joy to read your delicious concoctions. I tried one earlier, but deleted it as a failure. Thought I would try once again, and this time I will do as Bat Outtaheck suggested above and put a number at the end to designate the the number of titles in the sentence. Here goes, fingers crossed.
Running on Empty, All the Way Home Before Dark Shadows and Fog Bury Me Dead. (6)
Racing with the Moon Over Harlem Nights, O Brother, Where Art Thou? (4)
Public Enemy of the State of the Union Dances with Wolves. (4)
Red River of No Return to Oz, Bringing up Baby Doll, Without Reservations. (6)

spiderwort That Doghouse6 did that one with .. how many ? 112 ,was it ? Many of the longer ones are so impressive that the # helps to check if you caught them all. (you, in this case, meaning me). They are addictive though. Very. Watch out. Some of yours read like haiku. Especially the O Brother one !
