Who do you think will take that ethereal leap from everyday big leaguer to MLB star?
I'm going with Jameson Taillon, a guy who I've found mesmerizing since he made his to the bigs in 2016 after years of brutal injuries, sandwiched around a battle with testicular cancer in 2017. Drafted #2 overall in the 2010 draft between names you may know - Bryce Harper and Manny Machado - Taillon has the makeup to be the ace of what could be a solid rotation in Pittsburgh. He is slated to start on Opening Day.
He was actually really good last year, going 14-10, with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP, he just gets zero recognition. If you've ever watched him pitch, you know he has brilliant stuff and I think he's poised for a big year for the Bucs.

98% of all prospects end up as journeymen players or wash outs. Rare is the prospect who will turn into a superstar. Most recently, Mike Trout gets a big shout out, but IMO, guys like Machado and Harper have yet to prove themselves.

My big one as a Braves fan is obviously Ronald Acuna. That kid delivered last year on all of his hype and I expect him to put up MVP numbers this year. He is just flat out special. His English speaking might hamper him as a "star" but that depends on how you want to define a star.
Looking elsewhere I think Fransisco Lindor from Cleveland will really shine out. He is already great and an All Star but after last years All Star game in which I found him to be the highlight he should get even more attention. He was so fun on the mic during the game and showed a personality and fun/love of the game. He could be the face of MLB sooner than later.

i'm going to be a giant homer and say Rhys Hoskins
not that he's been just an 'everyday' player - he had this ridiculous run as a rookie putting up homer after homer - and made a good showing at the Derby last year - but I think the move back to 1st will make him a more comfortable everyday player and he goes from a 'good player' to perhaps face of the team as the Phuture.

I had AcuΓ±a, Soto, and Hoskins on my fantasy team last year. All were excellent. Could only keep 1, so I chose AcuΓ±a, mainly for his speed.
