Ah, there's nothing like a good old fashioned 1930s gangster movie starring James Cagney. Except this time Cagney is on the right side of the law, playing a lawyer who becomes a federal agent to crack down on out-of-control crime (and get revenge for the murder of a cop buddy).
G-Men has eluded me for many years, but thanks to TCM I finally got my chance to see it tonight. And it did not disappoint at all! Tough, violent, with great storytelling that benefits from a lot of witty writing. Plus there's a couple of scenes that gets creative with the use of shadows.
