Does #34 deserve to be retired by the Phillies?

No.
I don't like this.
He's a Blue Jay to me.
They won the WS in 2008 without him.
Flash in the pan here - Pete Rose Jr. - threw a couple of no-no's one in the playoffs against the Reds which was tremendous.
Part of the 4 Aces - Doc, Lee, Hamels, Oswalt - 2011 team I believe won over 100 games - after 2008 it was a sad turn of events.
He didn't 'win' a WS here and was a Part Timer - he was a Blue Jay
2009 losing to the Yanks in the WS and 2010 and 2011 to the Giants and Cardinals in the Playoffs.
And I'm sorry - RIP - very tragic - left behind a wife and kids - his death was his own doing (and I'd argue selfish behavior) trying to live like a daredevil flying pretty much a Kite with a seat into the ocean in circles inches away from the ocean top like some acrobatic Evil Kanieval (however you spell it) deathwish boob - and if memory serves 'chemicals' were in his system.
He along with Pete Rose in my book aren't 'Phillies' - Rose is a Red and Halladay is a Blue Jay

Phillies finish third in the division regardless. Sorry bro. Do they have good cheese steaks at the stadium at least? Can't remember. Are you a whiz guy or not?

Pats and Genos (i.e. whiz) are subpar IMO dude.
It's a shame this is what is referenced as a 'cheesesteak' here for tourists.
That being said - I'll eat em just like Steak-Umms
Can get a topnotch cheesesteak at a local pizza shop all over town here on a city street corner.
I get mine with American Cheese -but that's just this guy
Or at our local WAWAS
** Edit - If you're talking Citizens Bank Park - I've got no clue - I frequented 'The Bank' from 2008-2011 - and would just load up on brew

I've always gone with what I considered simple but best. Steak, onions, provolone but felt like taking a risk yesterday and added mushrooms. It was actually pretty good. Not sure I'll get that crazy every time but will try it again. Yeah I was talking about Citizens Bank. Most of my Philly knowledge has been gleaned from Rocky movies, ECW and It's Always Sunny. And of course you and a few others on this board.
