Nice, some natural beauty to be found.

Would you say you live in a beautiful corner of the world? Yes and no. I suppose it depends upon your personal tastes. I think there are some very nice locations in the area and some that are less appealing - at least to me.

There are a couple of places here and there in Norway that are not to bad.

I live in the slum capital of the world. Beauty is subjective although most people will say that the place where I live is not beautiful at all and many might call it ugly although I don't use that word for any place in the world. This is a place of dreams where millions come from outside and derive their livelihood and so I respect it for enabling millions to get their livelihoods. I personally do not mind it although I also don't consider it beautiful. My idea of beauty would be in the mountains. I will shift to one of the provinces of India that lies in the mystical and magical Himalayas. But for now, I am in the city of dreams. Bombay or Mumbai whatever you call it.

Not really. There are some nice looking areas, but overall it's pretty drab and dull. But relatively safe.

I believe there's beauty to be found, yes. Far outweighs the ugliness.

Yes, I live in LA's South Bay, beaches and palm trees and all that. Sure it's congested and the air is dirty. But it's beautiful.

I'm surprised an Indian who lives there would call it Bombay. That's what first comes to my mind but I don't wanna sound ignorant so I call it Mumbai. From my perspective it would have a wondrous grit, even with the poverty and overpopulation. But again, I would be a tourist. Living there might be different.

From my perspective it would have a wondrous grit, even with the poverty and overpopulation. But again, I would be a tourist. Living there might be different. To be honest I had never lived in Mumbai before this December and was a big fan of Delhi ( as I had lived my student years in Delhi). I used to have a sort of prejudice against Mumbai even if I had never lived here. But somehow I find myself in Mumbai and find it fascinating. No open places and parks like in Delhi. It's swarming with people. And for that reason, it is full of life. There are rich, and the poor and the middle ones and they all have their different lives. But there is a lot of interaction and everything makes for a very interesting life. A few nights back I saw children and adults playing cricket in the building compound where I live at midnight. I was like what? But they were all enjoying and having a great time. That would never be a sight in Delhi. There is far less corruption and crime here as compared to Delhi and as a matter of fact, it might be a lot safer than most of the US cities. The downside is the lack of space and silence. It's always noisy because so many people live here. I hope you visit us once. Not now but may in 10 years time. Just let me know if you ever come to India.

I am pretty sure I will move again. But I want to stay here in India for next 2 years. When I get bored I might like to live in Singapore or Hong Kong for a couple of years and also in New York though the US has made it very difficult for outsiders to get Visa in the recent years. I have lived in: New Delhi 2006-12 Leicester - 2012-13 London 2013-14 Bhutan briefly for a while and then from July 2014 to October 2018 in Melbourne, Australia.
Next target is Singapore/HK or New York. But I will always keep returning to India and will eventually settle in one of the Himalayan provinces of India.

The time of year also has a big impact on the physical appearance of where I live.
After a good winter's rain, everything is lush and green and the air is cool and crystal clear and smells lovely.
However, at present, during the worst of summer, everything is yellow or brown and the air is warm and dusty and full of grit.

Most of the Aussies I met said that NSW's weather is considered much better than Victoria's. Because Victoria tends to get colder and probably more hot than NSW.
Although NSW is so big in itself that I guess the different parts of the state would experience different weather patterns. Unfortunately, I could never visit NSW except for staying a few hours in Sydney airport.

As a Victorian... I have to say I've spent precious little time in NSW, except when I was passing through it on my way to somewhere nicer, like Victoria or Queensland. I've been to Sydney twice - and both times I woke up in the back seat of a car in the middle of the morning and found I was already there. And NSW isn't really that large, because it sits in the middle of the pack. It's fifth in total area, after WA, Queensland, NT and SA. However, although I've lived in several states, I've spent the vast majority of my life in SA.

I mistakenly though that you live in interiors of NSW. Victoria is the sports capital of Australia and Melbourne is probably the best sporting city in the world itself. I ensured during my 4 years stay in Melbourne that I never miss a good game in MCG.
Although, even an average sized state in Australia would probably be a few times larges than UK. (Just checked on Wiki - NSW is 4 times larger than UK and SA might be even more).

WA is the monster state. There's nothing but daylight between it and second place. It dwarfs the rest of them. And of the state capitals I've been to, I think Adelaide is easily the best. It's the only one I've lived in and it's the only one I'd consider living in again.
