I live in the slum capital of the world. Beauty is subjective although most people will say that the place where I live is not beautiful at all and many might call it ugly although I don't use that word for any place in the world. This is a place of dreams where millions come from outside and derive their livelihood and so I respect it for enabling millions to get their livelihoods. I personally do not mind it although I also don't consider it beautiful. My idea of beauty would be in the mountains. I will shift to one of the provinces of India that lies in the mystical and magical Himalayas. But for now, I am in the city of dreams. Bombay or Mumbai whatever you call it. I would call mumbai beautiful. Certainly parts of it. the slums not so much, sure, but overall I really Really enjoyed my time there and activelly miss it and want to go back. It takes some getting used to for a “westerner” from a much less crowded place, but I found a lot of beauty in Mumbai. More than in Goa for example.

I thought you said you lived in Australia. I used to but moved back to India in October 2018. I quite can't settle in one place for long. It's been here and there for me for years now. I am pretty sure I will move again. But I want to stay here in India for next 2 years. When I get bored I might like to live in Singapore or Hong Kong for a couple of years and also in New York though the US has made it very difficult for outsiders to get Visa in the recent years. I have lived in: New Delhi 2006-12 Leicester - 2012-13 London 2013-14 Bhutan briefly for a while and then from July 2014 to October 2018 in Melbourne, Australia.
Next target is Singapore/HK or New York. But I will always keep returning to India and will eventually settle in one of the Himalayan provinces of India. come to New York

I wouldnt call Brooklyn ( which is where I live) beautiful. Compared to most European cities New York is much dirtier, with trash on the streets (and giant rats to be seen, a sight I never saw in Europe) and the architecture in Brooklyn is not really that interesting, even though I live in a brownstone which i dont really get why is so special to so many people, but apparently it is. So from this perspective my answer would be no I do not.
But: I do love the street life and the overall vibe, it almost makes you feel like you live in a Spike Lee movie. And also I do consider Manhattan beautiful for the most part (I just love tall glass and concrete or metal buildings) and the US overall too. The nature here is amazing, I love travelling cross country, and have done a few road trips from coast to coast and it was absolutelly beautiful.

There are a couple of places here and there in Norway that are not to bad. Whaaat? If that is true then that is very sad to hear. From what I've seen/read/heard, Norway and some other Scandinavian/eastern Europe countries are some of the best and most beautiful places on Earth.

Yeah, there are some beautiful places around here, primarily the beach with its sugar white sand and emerald green water.

Thought you were just Australian. Wow, you must be rich, being able to constantly moving place to place with ease. That's a bit embarrassing No, I am not rich at all. Though I hope to be in the future.

My suggestion if you come to India again - Visit the Himalayan states. Not Kashmir as there's always trouble going on there. Sikkim province and Himachal are like heaven. Dalai Lama stays in Himachal. But my personal favourite is Sikkim. Mesmerizingly beautiful. You could easily go to 13000 feet by car and more if you wish to go by foot. I do very much like to come to New York but I don't think my visa would be accepted at the moment. I am a halfway through certain qualification that will certainly get me in NY but my qualification will be complete by June 2020 if things go fine.

That's a bit embarrassing No, I am not rich at all. Though I hope to be in the future. How were you able to get housing in London or Melbourne then? It's incredibly hard these days. Don't know how it is in India. When I was in Australia I used to work at a small accounting firm and was also a part-time teacher of finance/statistics. I teamed up with 2 other friends to get a 3 BHK flat in one of the reasonably priced suburbs (Bundoora). It cost us $1600 + bills but bills weren't that big so we usually had rent+bills at $650 per head. That's not too high. Yeah, if you live in the city centre then you have very high expenses. In Leicester likewise, it wasn't too costly. But it definitely was quite costly to live in London. I was sharing a 2BHK with a girl. The girl actually was quite rich (she worked in RBS) and had the whole place in her name. Though I was essentially paying half as she had sublet the place. But she was quite a nice person and I didn't mind paying a bit higher as she was a good company and the locality was really good. Tesco was right below our building.

onethreetwoall ya gotta do is drive a little way and cross the bridge into Wisconsin and all that dull Minnesota-ness goes away ! Seriously … the trip up to Taylor's Falls / Interstate Park isn't all that far from The Twin Cities and in the summertime is really great. IF you like rivers and rapids and rocks and ice age geology and such !

No.
but in terms of land location with overall view etc (it's more open) I think were I am at is better than pretty much everyone else I know. but with that said... I would assume the typical person would not find anything special with where I am at as I am sure one could say it's about average.
also, I don't know how anyone likes living in the city as that would suck with the noise and overcrowded crap etc. sure, I am not saying I would want to live out in the middle of no where but finding that balance of living in the country but nothing too much is where it's at (like say between city and country, but more on the country side of things as this way your basically in the country but not in the middle of no where) and in that regard I think were I am at is solid enough as houses are not too close to mine (so you still got decent privacy) but at the same time it's not like a half of mile or more between houses either.
