Any fans of the movie "This is Spinal Tap"? Hard to believe it's been 35 years since it came out. An amusing comedy that has its share of funny lines, memorable scenes (visiting Elvis Presley's grave, Nigel complaining about the deli food, the 11 amp, etc.) and the memorable songs (Big Bottom, Hell Hole, Stonehenge, Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You,"). It's hard to believe it's largely improvised, but that's a testament to the musical and acting talent of Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer and director Rob Reiner.

Nigel Tufnel: Lookโฆ still has the old tag on, never even played it. Marty DiBergi: (points his finger) Youโve never playedโฆ? Nigel Tufnel: Donโt touch it! Marty DiBergi: Weโll I wasnโt going to touch it, I was just pointing at it. Nigel Tufnel: Wellโฆ donโt point! It canโt be played. Marty DiBergi: Donโt point, okay. Can I look at it? Nigel Tufnel: No. no. Thatโs it, youโve seen enough of that one.

I have this movie. Love it. It has more laughs per minute than most comedies have in their complete running times.

Great mockumentary and perfectly lampoons the whole metal/hard rock genre.
"But these amps go to 11".

One of the all time greats. I love the fates of Spinal Tap's drummers.

One of the all time greats. I love the fates of Spinal Tap's drummers. I think that part was inspired by Judas Priest. According to the Metal Archives, their past members include the following drummers: John Ellis Drums (1970-1971) Alan "Skip" Moore Drums (1971-1972, 1975-1977) Chris "Congo" Campbell Drums (1972-1973) John Hinch Drums (1973-1975) Les Binks Drums (1977-1979) Dave Holland Drums (1979-1989)

always thought it mirrored The Grateful Dead's keyboardists. Not the lengthy list of JP's drummers, but...
Ron "Pigpen" McKernan (died) Tom Constanten (quit, was a Scientologist and didn't indulge in LSD) Keith Godchaux (quit, then died)
Brett Mydland (died) fit the pattern, but he died after Spinal Tap came out. Compare the revolving door of keyboards to the stability of the rest of the band. The Dead were truly remarkable for staying together despite all the time they spent together.
Just love the way they died.
"Stumpy" Pepys - Bizarre gardening accident "Stumpy Joe" Childs - choked on vomit, not his own Peter "James" Bond - spontaneous combustion Mick Shrimpton - exploded onstage Can't remember the name of the one who died trying to jump his tricycle over a shark tank and the one who was eaten my his pet snake. I think there was nearly 20 Tap drummers.

These two make me spontaneously combust...with laughter!
