I haven't watched it in probably 17 years, but I remember enjoying it well enough at the time.

Yep, it's one of Ron Howard's best.

Yep, it's one of Ron Howard's best. A good one for economical dvd purchase.

I liked it a lot BUT when I watched it again recently, for whatever reason and to my great surprise, not so much. BUT maybe it was just not the right time or mood to see it again. It's still on the shelf and not totally abandoned. It certainly has all the right ingredients !

Yes. I don't think the remake will live up to the original.

Yes, it's quite sweet. john Candy is very funny. I watch it when it comes on tv from time to time, but don't like it enough to own a copy.

I haven't given "Splash" a thought in at least two decades, but, yeah, it was a very entertaining film, Tom Hanks' first major movie hit.

I like it. It's funny and even has a decent romance.

I barely remember it. Think I enjoyed it when I saw it but I was a lot younger. Can't see myself watching it again.

I miss comedic Tom Hanks. He's a brilliant dramatic actor, but I think some people forget how funny he is. His timing is perfect. "Apollo 13" (one of my favorite movies, and a Ron Howard masterpiece) and, the earlier "Bachelor Party."

Silly premise, but it was indeed a fun and entertaining comedy. John Candy was at his doltish best, Daryl Hannah was abolutely gorgeous, and Tom Hanks had a knack for doing good slapstick.
