She's terrible for the role. It felt like I was looking at a young male drag queen the entire movie! Why didn't they cast someone better? I can name better choices off the top of my head:
Mila Kunis
Megan Fox
Gal Gadot
Amber Heard
Margot Robbie
Any of them would have been 10 times better. Emma was terrible for Belle and I couldnt take the story seriously seeing her in the role. Not even the damn Beast would have actually been attracted to her. smh

She just didn't "capture" Belle to me. I'm not even sure it was her fault. She was just miscast. I think your picks are too old and too glam. I think Lennon Stella would have been perfect, and she has an amazing signing voice:  |

They are too old to play a teenaged French girl except Margot Robbie since she's the same age as Emma. Megan Fox, ewww. I believe she was chosen because of name recognition since she was a well-known and outspoken feminist activist, and Belle was conceived to be a feminist woman. Plus, she was actually offered the part of Cinderella in Disney's 2015 live-action remake, but turned it down so Disney's casting agents had their eye on her for quite some time now. |
