Lily James from the Rules don't apply? The only other actress I can think of whose name has been mentioned a few times is Blake Lively. I could've seen her playing Belle.

Actually, I didn't find Emma Watson fresh or innocent at all. Emma Watson may be young (ish) but she doesn't look innocent, or at least not in the movie anyway. She's far too self-confident, too strong of a personality - almost cocky, and that does not make her look innocent or fresh. I mean, it's not a bad look, I just don't think it works well with Belle. I will have to watch the film before I can say if I agree with you or not, but I do think that by comparison to the actresses the other poster mentioned, Emma is fresh. I think Lily James, who played Cinderella and was in the series War and Peace, would have been great. Personally I would have preferred Melissa Benoist. |

Because with her in it, the movie has made over $1 Billion. And before you say "big box office doesn't make a movie good" I just want to say; Some ass hat whining on the internet doesn't make a movie bad either.

Emma Watson isn't some kind of big box office draw. Outside of the Harry Potter movies her movies haven't really been making lots of money. So this movie making over 1 billion dollars probably doesn't have much to do with her. |

Honestly, I would have went with Emmy Rossum. More age appropriate opposite Stevens , more beautiful , better actress and better singer. but thats just me.
It doesn't really matter though at this point, B&tB has made over a billion dollars.

How are these other choices better per se? Because they don't look like trannies?  I haven't seen this film and won't because of Watson. She looks like a early teen pubescent boy and has zero charisma. Lucky for her that the film was a hit, otherwise she would have blamed it on sexist and chauvinistic men who don't care for women in our gynocentric and feminine saturated society. |

She's terrible for the role. It felt like I was looking at a young male drag queen the entire movie! Why didn't they cast someone better? I can name better choices off the top of my head: Mila Kunis Megan Fox Gal Gadot Amber Heard Margot Robbie Any of them would have been 10 times better. Emma was terrible for Belle and I couldnt take the story seriously seeing her in the role. Not even the damn Beast would have actually been attracted to her. smh Megan Fox? REALLY?? At at this rate, I'm surprised that you don't have Kim Kardashian on that list of yours. |
