Am I missing out on anything? For the record, I really like the first one, like the remake, and even the sequel was alright.

I think considering all those things you'll find the third movie decent at best.

I haven’t seen it in a while, but it’s pretty stupid. You might unintentionally enjoy it.

I didn't see it either. I truly believe my case is pretty much the most common one. The first Robocop was outstanding and fresh, and quotable.
But then the second one was hum drum Hollywood all the way, something most people don't sit and watch, but kind of yawn through while they do housework. It isn't even entertainment for the elliptical or exercise bike. It's just the same Hollywood negativity, written by a Hollywood machine.
After that, who would want to watch a third one?
EDIT:
After reading Movieman's comment, it struck me that it's been a long time, and I may be confused, so I looked back, and find that I do believe I made a mistake.
As Movie Man said, number 2 wasn't the "bad one". I was thinking of number 3, as might be obvious to those who have seen it, from my description. It's the one where even the "old man" in charge of the corporation turned out to be just another "Dick Jones", and not that I have a problem with that, just that it was trite and Hollywood. Indeed, most corporate heads are evil. It's just that the first corporate head was a bit more lay back, and that one should have stayed into the series.
It is Robocop 3 that is the definitive dull "formula film". Sorry about that.

I thought Robocop 3 was OK. I've seen worse movies, believe me.

As a fan of schlock, "Robocop", and someone willing to watch pretty much anything, with a certain level of patience...
"Robocop 3" was a rough one. If you're into the lore, definitely check it out. I did the TV mini-series because of a sort of investment in the character. I think the charm to "Robocop" was the casual dark humor (Paul Verhoeven is a master at this). Part 2 held the torch well (it was even way darker/morbid in some ways), but by part 3, you know you're watching an ad for action figures. And you don't get the voice/physical commitment Peter Weller brought to the table.
Still though, if you are into the lore and can hold your nose for a few scenes, it's not a bad watch.

As a fan of the first 2 films, I recommend against watching it. It's a cartoonish, PG-13 re-imagining of the character and dystopian Detroit. Very disappointing conclusion to the series.

I actually really like Robocop 2. It is obviously not as good as the original, but it is a lot of fun. The villains are great two from the kid and the woman to Cane. Part three is pure trash in every way. It is hardly enjoyable. The production and acting are a joke.

It is HORRIBLE and Stupid beyond words (to me at least).
