I just find it funny that anyone would care about an audience score, before anyone had a chance to see it.
I guess it could be used to measure the butt-hurt of angry rival fanboys. In which case, Captain Marvel is a grand slam home run!
... plus the fact it has an A Cinemascore! Audiences love it! Fanboys pout.

Debunked. ETA: whereas Disney clearly paid RT to artificially boost the audience score later in the day.

I went to go see it. I figured I'd seen Brie Larson in King Kong and enjoyed her there in a movie that wasn't much liked by many but I thought I got my moneys worth and saw Loki in a different role. If it was as bad as people said, and the reason some were complaining valid, I could then come here and bitch about it.
Instead I was pleasantly surprised, it was a fun movie with great music.

So now how you feel? 52% liked it AUDIENCE SCORE User Ratings: 34,157 That's only because Disney paid RT to remove anything under three stars. The rating now doesn't matter anymore. The only thing that matters is that it opened at 32%, and everyone knows that's the real rating.

The score from before anyone saw it, when a thousand or so voted, is more correct than one with more voters who have actually seen it?

The score from before anyone saw it, when a thousand or so voted, is more correct than one with more voters who have actually seen it? RT removed over 50,000 negative reviews to boost CM's score. So your logic is exactly backward. The lower score reflected more people's voices, whereas the current horseshit score of hilriously just 1-2% better than 50% is the adjusted, paid-for one showing just shill votes.

My teen-aged niece has already figured out those sites can't be trusted much due to studio influence and social media campaigns. On the old IMDB GoT boards we'd post links to the sites which would generate hundreds or thousands of votes where you wanted them for a modest fee and evidence of 500+ zero or ten appearing nearly instantaneously on shows which had been out for years but became controversial to some political faction.

Exactly. The MCU is a house of cards built on lies and phony RT scores. It needs to be exposed for the fraud that it is and rightly abandoned en masse by every fan everywhere. Innit? ETA: and after abandoning the false prophet of the MCU, everyone everywhere should get back to the real priority: getting Kathleen Kennedy fired, the MCU destroyed forever, and Star Wars back atop the heap of Hollywood franchise blockbusters. Who's with me?!

Nowadays you get to sit down in a recliner and see awesome special effects, (often) great music and a fun story for $5-$10, depending on when you go. It's like a dirt cheap rock concert, what bugs me most is shelling out $5 or more for a soda, but at least the refills are free. DCU has hotter babes though, I'd go see Suicide Squad again for the above plus watching those two dance around in their underwear. Yowza!

They dont pander; their movies are just classic fun.

Are you taking lessons from Always Wrong?
