You guys keep acting as if these are "different" faiths.
All Christian faiths boil down to ONE thing.
There is one God who created all things. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God of Israel. He is one God in three persons....father, son and Holy ghost.
Jesus is God, who came to the earth, lived a perfect life, was crucified to pay the punishment of sin all humans commit and have to be judged for. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus (or God the father if you've never heard of Jesus or came before his time....."I and the Father are one"..."he that hath seen me hath seen the Father").
That is the Christian faith. All these denominations....Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, Catholic.......etc. they are the Christian faith.....just little man made sects of it.
They are all the same faith.
Quit acting like "catholic" is some separate religion/faith. Faith in God/Jesus/bible is the Christian faith. Catholicism is the Christian faith. It's got a ton of "traditions" they've added over the years but it is the Christian faith. The bible and scripture is the core of all these faiths.
He's basically saying the bible is mostly crap but I'm a "Catholic", "Baptist", "Presbyterian"........fill in whatever denomination you want, they are all the Christian faith.
Look, you are obviously an evangelical... You're like the Pharisees and Scribes, chapter and verse, know every word of the old testament, etc etc. We are more in to living Jesus in our heart, and practicing his teachings in our daily lifes... That was today's gospel and homily at Mass this morning, 'Don't be like the Pharisees and Scribes'. Why don't you worship your way, and leave others to practice their faith their way? You stick to your judging people by scripture you can't adhere to yourselfs... That's fine, I'm not telling you how to be a Christian. Do me the courtesy of not telling me how to be a Christian in your mould. And for the record, we believe the Roman Catholic Church is the One Holy Apostolic Church. |

Alright... Who are the 3 people who said animals don't have souls? Our Dexter isn't very happy with you. I was one of them. Nothing against animals, but I don't think anything on the planet has a soul. Dualism has been dead in the water for decades among a solid majority of philosophers and scientists who think about such things, so it isn't as if my position is controversial among those whose opinions matter. Well, at least it explains your soulless posts. You should delete your account. Nobody likes you. |
