WW felt very derivative of Thor & First Avenger. She was worse of a fish out of water since Thor at least interacted with humans before. Diana was ultra over-protected. The whole bit where they go to a bar to put together the team was reminiscent of the Howlong Commandos agreeing to team up with Steve. Both Steves going down in planes? At least we didn't have the sex before battle so Trevor could make Diana a real woman. There was a scene where Diana is riding a horse chasing down a baddie that seemed really similar to a shot in First Avenger of Cap on his motorcycle I gave WW a 7 & CM a 9. I resonated more with Carol as another woman. Yeah, I know that means crap to all you little blue arrows I recognized all the little put-downs to keep Carol from reaching her full potential. When she punched Yon-rogg because she realized she didnt have to play on his terms, it was great. So... Pretty much CM was infinitely more real girlpower than WW to me. Well, what was notable was that when CM was talking about finding her strength (of always getting up when getting knocked down) she specifically identified herself as "human," rather than "woman."

It made me feel things, like when Fury got his eye scratched, I went from anger to confusion to acceptance all in a matter of seconds.

So when the guy told her she would never fly & there was a reason it was called a cockpit, it was just a human experience? Because guys say that to one another all the time?

Don't think CM had a line as tacky and cliched as “Now I know, that only love can truly save the world"

So when the guy told her she would never fly & there was a reason it was called a cockpit, it was just a human experience? Because guys say that to one another all the time? Guys in an environment like that rag on each other all the time. A good representation of that is the beginning of TWS where Cap, Falcon and Widow go at it, another is Cap and IM in Avengers. One reason is a natural result of competitiveness and aggressiveness in certain social environments, another is the group dynamics where people's ability to handle stress is examined to determine who can dish it out but not take it, a warning sign for instability. Bullies like to dish it out but fold like a cheap tent or go haywire when they have to take it, those have to be toughened up or weeded out sometimes for the good of the group, humans are instinctual creatures just like any other mammal and other forms of life. Institutions where group goals are particularly paramount often encourage this sort of behavior.
Did Carol Danvers rise to the challenge and determine to prove him wrong like 'Mayo the Wop' in "Officer and a Gentleman" when Lou Gossett jr. when after him on very personal grounds, or did she cry about it? That's why she's the sort you might change the rules for.

Wonder Woman was definitely the better movie, but Captain Marvel was funnier and the third act was probably better.

Got me more excited to see the character again in the next one (Endgame to Justice League).
Also a less rushed 3rd act.

And the Ares fight was awful and lacked any tension or stakes.

The only thing I hate about WW is that oppressive heavy blue color grading during the entirety of act two. Captain Marvel was a very visually bland movie, but at least it didn't have any excessive coloring like WW did.
