Anyone else want to find out that Brainy and Keelex are exes?
God, when will they stop using the Christopher Reeve version of the Fortress of Solitude? I know they've long since established this as the layout on this show, but it annoys me to no end and did when they also used the general concept on Smallville. It's so stupid; there's no form or functionality to a structure of randomly intersecting spires; and visually it looks horrible. There's no contrast to anything, because everything is made of the same material! The statue of Jor-el and Lara holding Krypton is virtually indistinguishable from the rest of the fortress when they panned up. The screens displaying the news reports looked atrocious. The picture looks better on my Galaxy S5 which regardless of however old it may be, is probably because it doesn't look like it was made out of roughly hewn crystal!
I'll never stop shipping Kara and Lena, but I've said it before, I would absolutely take Alex and Lena as a consolation match. Their banter in the lab was good and seemed to border on flirting.
I suspect Alex is going to end up being given this super-human treatment Lena is cooking up; probably after numerous trials continue to fail and at a point when Alex is severely hurt and this is their best chance to save her.
Oh... So the President did give Ben a pardon? Because that's not how they framed it in the previous episode. They had someone tell the president that the Patriot Act didn't apply int his situation and the President ordered his release - that's not a pardon.
Hmmm.... Supergirl flying into the oval office to chat with the President of the United States, uninvited and unannounced... I don't care who's President or if you have the power to do that, that seems like a blatant abuse of your power and exactly the reason someone like this douche nozzle or Lex Luther or even Batman should have misgivings about Kryptonians being so powerful. It's like the bullshit on The Flash, with Cecile using her mind reading abilities on people during an official police interrogation; just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. That kind of moral distinction is supposed to be what the characters as heroes are all about.
Seriously, who leaves a message like they're having a meandering conversation with the person they called? Is Liberty's wife leaving him now?
Does Manchester actually have any powers in this series? Oh, literally as I write that sentence, he's handed a Legion flight ring.... figures.
And before I finish typing the subsequent sentence, he's already taken out....
Hmmm.... Mixed feelings about her destroying the satellite after it was shutdown. On the one hand, I get it, but on the other hand, there again, it's that distinction between what she can do and what she should do that needs to be taken into consideration; and if she takes it upon herself to destroy a government satellite because she disagrees with that government's policies, where does it end? It's hard to fault in this instance when she's arguably morally right, but that's not always a given; especially with the level of power she has.
What would invariably have been the better option is to neutralize the immediate threat and then advocate for the correct policy change; and seeing how the President and others were manipulated into a situation where this weapon could be hijacked and misused, Supergirl stopping what could have been a tremendous catastrophe has the perfect leverage to affect that change the proper way changing hearts and minds.
