I live in Brisbane...though, sadly, just the regular one. Not Space Brisbane.

I can't remember if you told me that before or not but that explains the differences in weather we are having sometimes and I must have gotten things mixed up and thought you lived in New South Wales too. Were you near any of the big floods in Queensland not long ago 'cause they were all over the news here and looked really bad and I heard they caused a lot of damage to people's homes and stores.

You should check DBZ out Deb it's fucking awesome, though I dunno you may if you choose want to watch DBZ Kai which is a the show redrawn and dubbed I believe with more modern effects as the OG show was like 89-97, also Kai cuts a lot of the filler out as the show had to draw things out because it was being made alongside the manga so they had to kill time a bunch to let the manga stay a head of the show, Kai basically halves the amount of episodes by cutting out drawn out scenes and filler episodes this way.
Or just watch DBZ Abrbridged on YouTube, that shit is fucking hilarious and easy to get through, atleast till the Cell Games which is as far as they have gotten in the series, but still it's hilarious and they also do abridged versions of the DBZ movies and tie them into the DBZA main story unlike the actual films and show.

I think it is on the Cartoon Network here Dazz. I remember there was a 'Dragon Ball Z' show in the 90s on Channel 10 and that was the show some of my friends were watching but I never watched any of it. I watched a lot of episodes of 'Pokemon' though and they used to air repeats of 'Dragon Ball Z' with that so I would see ads for it when I was watching 'Pokemon' and 'Pokemon' started airing here in Australia the late 90s and it was so popular back then they used to air it in the night sometimes too and we would get two or three episodes on weekend nights and did you ever watch Pokemon and did you like the show? I played the game first and then watched the show and some of the Pokemon were so cute which is why I loved it. Is 'Dragon Ball Z' similar to 'Pokemon?' I will look on the Foxtel guide and see the next time they have an episode of it and watch it and let you know what I think. I don't know what versions they would be showing now but I am pretty sure it is on Cartoon Network. Aside from the ones you mentioned I recall seeing somewhere there was a live action movie of 'Dragon Ball Z' and was that any good or a bad adaption?

Aside from the ones you mentioned I recall seeing somewhere there was a live action movie of 'Dragon Ball Z' and was that any good or a bad adaption? Yeah I watched Pokémon back in the day, I watched up to when they changed the voice actor for Ash, which I think was Gen 4 or 5 I know I watched up to when Dawn joined the team but not past it I don't think, also saw the first 2 films in the theatre's I still love the brother my brother song from the first film, hell I don't care I'll admit it sometimes Ash "dying" gets to me a little bit, Pikachu and his desperate chuu's as he tries to wake him up, oh god there I go again , btw not a joke entirely thinking of Pikachu trying to save Ash did slightly well me up, I am such an idiot .
I also have played I think up to B&W2, I just never got around to bying a 3DS or a switch to keep playing, maybe someday, I also collected all 151 OG Pokemon, Charizard was such a bastard to get, my mate however got him after buy the next pack after I did for £1 and got him...cunt.
As for DBZ not really a lot like Pokémon it's a fighting anime, outright killing people is pretty common, it's more adult but Goku the main character is basically a overgrown child at times, a lot of silly moments throughout the series however, Dragon Ball which is the first sort of 1/3 of the Manga series which is called Dragon Ball throughout, that's a little more pokemon like, it started as more a gag/martial arts manga back in the day and has silly moments all the time, DBZ is more adult in nature though it cuts down a lot in the dirty humor oddly enough, Dragon Ball Super is the newest series and that's gone back to a lot of silliness but also kept a lot of the serious edge of Z, so it's kind of an odd blend.
DO NOT watch Dragon Ball Evolution which was the "big budget" live action film, it FUCKING SUCKS, they fucking ruin everything, they made 1 good choice Jamie Chung as Chi Chi because I love Jamie Chung and she is always a +, Evolution is also technically a movie based on Dragon Ball not Z as all the elements of Z are missing and it features Goku meeting all the friends from OG DB minus his best fucking friend Krillin aka the bald guy in the images at the top of this thread, oh and Tien a large bald, three eyed human & his heterosexual life mate that looks like a china doll...not joking, I think the movie had it in for bald people.

I am glad to hear you liked 'Pokemon' dazz . I think the earlier seasons of the TV Show were the best and my favourite Pokemon of all time are still Vulpix, Eevee, Skitty, jigglypuff and Plusle but I like the newer seasons and games and am looking forward to seeing all the new Pokemon in the upcoming 'Sword and Shield' games. I think 'Pokemon' is one of those franchises that is going to be around for a very long time and I don't see it going away anytime soon especially with more games and movies coming. Have you seen the new trailers and pictures of 'Detective Pikachu' and will you be going to see the movie when it comes out at movie theatres? Beccy and I will be, of course and we will be taking my youngest niece to see it too 'cause she is a huge Pokemon fan and I have played a lot of Pokemon games with her over the years and watched the animated show and movies with her. I think 'Detective Pikachu' is going to be a big hit and might become the biggest live action movie based on a video game of all time but I am not so sure the live action movie of 'Sonic the Hedgehog.' I just heard they are going to redesign his look 'cause a lot of fans don't like it and I am glad they are doing that 'cause I think it could affect the success of the movie and I am hoping Tails, Amy and Knuckles along with the others look a lot better. I was saying to another member on here about the possibility of more movies based on video games and I am hoping they make an animated movie of Kirby 'cause I love the Kirby series and think an animated movie could work. Are there any games you would like to see as movies?
Thanks for the information about 'Dragon Ball Z' again and I will avoid the live action movie.

What do you make of the Db Super movie Dazz? I though it was pretty cool, some things I didn't quite like, such as just how powerful Brolly was tbh, but that's an issue I have with Super in general, Legendary SSJ should in no way exceed SSJ Blue given it's god levels of power, but in terms of character they made Brolly an interesting character instead of a mindless rage monster screaming Kakarot over and over again, it was also cool seeing Vegeta go SSJ God, I found both Frieza & Bulma wanting such trivial wishes for vanity sake funny, plus nice to see a new Saiyan state even if it's been outshone at this point by the SSJ and God forms, but still interesting how about you what you think of it?

I enjoyed it, the movie made a helluva lot of money too. Until this movie, I didn't know GT and the other movies weren't canon and were pretty much made by a fan. I found those things funny too, although a little odd on Frieza's part I must admit. I wish Broly wasn't so naive and innocent, you'd think his father woulda prepped him more for than just battle. The way I see it re power levels, is that Broly is kinda like the Hulk, the angrier he gets...Pretty cool to see Goku's father and that time, also to see Vegeta and Raditz as kids. A friend of mine didnt really like this version of Bardok, took away his badassness. I was fine with it. Kinda reminded me of Superman's origin tbh. The battles were intense. I hope more movies are made. It was also funny seeing Vegeta and Goku trying to fuse multiple times

I hope more movies are made. It was also funny seeing Vegeta and Goku trying to fuse multiple times Really? that always seemed obvious to me based on how almost none of the films tied together except the 2 Cooler films and then the 3 Broly movies, that and how they directly contradict much of the main anime films, exceptions being the few set after the Buu saga as their is no manga or anime to contradict at that point.
But yeah only films that are canon are DBS Broly, DBZ Battle of Gods & Resurrection F, though Yo! Son Goku & Friends Return may be canon also, as Tarble is mentioned in DBS so Vegeta not being an only child is canon for sure.
But yeah GT wasn't done by Toriyama though he did design a bunch of the stuff on the show, but I would love if they brought some of that stuff back in DBS, make GT just a different timeline instead of utter non-canon, like the different Future Trunks timeline, as it would be cool seeing the likes of SSJ4 or even beyond reached in Super by the likes of Gohan or the others, actually a SSGSS4 would be cool to see and SSG Oozaru, like if they had Gohan train to master his emotions and somehow that unlocks the regrowth of his tail, then again I would love to see them also reuse the False SSJ form also, that would have been a cool thing to use in the Ressurection F movie or Saga for Gohan to tap into, showing his rustiness at going SSJ by making him reach a proto SSJ form they could even do it ala Lord Slug where the power up is immense though maybe not true SSJ level but enough to easily wipe out Frieza's men and throw down with Frieza outside of his golden form, but also easily fades the second Gohan isn't focused, you know Saiyans have a lot of cool shit that Toriyama just forgot about as the series went on, bring that shit back for fun.
Yeah more movies also I think DBS is coming back later this year or something, the manga is still going on and I just think they want to get that a sage or two ahead so they don't end up trailing behind the show constantly like Super was.

Believe it or not, I havent actually seen that many episodes of the entire dragon ball series. Ive seen some Z, maybe one of GT and some select episodes of Super (I was curious about the new saiyan levels. Blue, red and that other one near the end (which I think is even more powerful than Beerus)). I never really got into it when I was a kid so I guess that explains that but I was still interested on some level. This is why I didnt know about what's canon. I have seen some other Dragon ball movies too though. I like the look of super saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta, so Im with you all the way (courtesy of clips from youtube showing certain scenes). I know a little more than just those episodes obviously through friends and general reading on the internet

Actually there are a few new forms beyond those the new forms in total are Super Saiyan God or SSG aka the red form, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan or SSGSS aka SSJ Blue, SSJ Rage which is SSJ2 but with a blue inner aura and gold outer aura, the pupils also disappear and the power boost is akin to god Ki level transformations like Blue or Red, SSJ Blue Evolution which gives a darker blue hair colour, increased mass and a 20x power boost and then there is Ultra Instinct Omen which is just a slight hair flick & white/blue/purple aura & Mastered Ultra Instinct which is the same but with just the pure white or silvery hair, MUI being the form that may surpass Beerus, but Beerus can also use UIO and due to his natural power being so much greater than Goku's he maybe a match for Goku but I am not sure.
UI isn't a Saiyan form though obviously as Beerus and other gods of destruction I believe have it, so like anyone can use it, it's just a bitch to learn, this has if you have not heard about this has also led to memes of MUI Shaggy from Scooby Doo who people say is the strongest being in all of existence, which you know I love because it's mental.
Curious about which transformation you like the most, mine are SSJ Blue Evolution possibly because it's Vegeta's which he acquires by sheer will alone, and gives him a boost to rival Goku's SSJ Blue Kaioken x20, which I do not like the look of myself, then SSJ3 and SSJ2 or Ultimate Gohan which is porbably due to the awesome SSJ3 Theme & Gohan's Anger theme by Bruce Faulconer, but a good SSJ 2 form is awesome imo.
Sorry to ramble but I do love DB.

I have seen some other Dragon ball movies too though. I like the look of super saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta, so Im with you all the way (courtesy of clips from youtube showing certain scenes). I know a little more than just those episodes obviously through friends and general reading on the internet Ah that makes sense
Huh didnt know about those different power levels. Interesting. I wish they could do something else besides the colour of hair changing when saiyans reach a new power level, I mean I know why it happens, so it makes it obvious. Just seems a little bit ridiculous to change from yellow to blue or red/pink. Can't say I have favourite one as I am I guess, for all intents and purposes, be deemed a casual viewer. Although I did love it when Goku figured out how to stay a super saiyan for an extended period of time and then Gohan followed suit (Goten and Trunks too? memory's a little fuzzy here). LOL how did that happen? Why Shaggy of all characters?

Sorry!! I must have missed this thread before General Kenobi . What is that from? Is that an actual animated TV Show or something a person created with a picture type of program? C'mon really?! Hey! I never watched 'Dragon Ball Z.' I know some people who watched it but when it aired here in the 90s I was far more interested in watching 'Pokemon' and I watched some of the 'Pokemon Knock-off, 'Digimon' which is still going now and I am surprised they were able to get away with making that without getting sued but 'Dragon Ball Z' never really stood out to me. When I first heard about it I thought it must have been a show about dragons that come out of balls or a dragon that was shaped like a ball.

Well they do, SSJ makes the hair stand up, and gives a golden aura and hair colour, SSJ causes the hair to become spikier and adds constant electricity to the aura, SSJ3 causes a long flowing mane of hair and loss of eyebrows, there are also grades of SSJ forms, so theres the normal form we see usually, then there is SSJ Grade 2 or Ascended Saiyan which causes the Saiyan to bulk up and get longer slightly spikier hair, the power increase in this form is significant, then there is Grade 3 which is similar the bulk increase is huge, hair spikes WAY more and adds clusters of electricity crackles, but this form which is like a smaller version of Broly's Legendary form has a huge drawback of decreasing speed or atleast limiting it, so whilst the power jumps huge they are significantly slower than any foe even close to that power level, then there is also Mastered SSJ which is the form most of the Saiyans learn to use, this gives them the plain blonde hair that's spiked but without the huge aura meaning they can power up at will easier and not be impacted by the SSJ form's input on their emotions, presumably the grades are also possible in the other forms but they just keep changing to new levels rather than grades I guess.
I don't mind SSG's look I like that it also add's a fire aura to the user and that it actually causes them to become leaner, BOG's Goku in base is actually bigger than SSG Goku which is a subtle but nice shift, this also happens with other SSJ forms tbf though, SSJ2 gives a slight muscle increase and sharper edges to the facial features, SSJ3 does the same but they aren't pronounced and sometimes they just forgot to add that stuff, but yeah SSG is a pretty cool look imo, SSGSS not so much, for one I don't get why it looks like that, it's a SSG who turns SSJ, so I get the hair style that's fine imo, but the colour is wrong, Red + Yellow is not Blue, I think a better look would have been Orange and have the aura be even more flame like, evenb use the fire thing as the reason we get SSJ Blue later, Blue is hotter than Orange after all.
But I do like that the SSJ Blue form's aura is different, it has sparkle effects inside the aura, plus it does have the classic SSJ aura at the edges of it, but the sparks add a different aesthetic to the divine form, UI does similar but different but yeah I don't get why the hair colour change, the hair flick I liked, like it just inverts the points of Goku's hair adding a slight design change, but mostly the different forms change as they do for merchandising.
As for Shaggy it's because in one of the Scooby Doo direct to video movies Shaggy has a moment where he does something and it resembles UI, and I think he does defend himself or something, so when DBS introduced UIO and later MUI people noticed the similarities and decided to have some fun with it, move over Chuck Norris, Shaggy's the new meme or badassery to the world.
