I feel sorry for them. What a challenge. How do you make a movie about toxic masculinity, without toxic masculinity? The cartoon made him kind of fey with Cringer his gay cat, but these days, oh boy. Can't be whitey. Blonde even.
Make im black. That's the answer. Deep tan to the rescue.

Great another white man.
Why could they not get a black lesbian transgender Chinese pansexual half Nigerian bisexual man trapped in woman's body trapped in a mans body trapped in a woman's body ?

Well now the rumor is that they're looking at Henry Cavill or Chris Hemsworth to replace Centineo. I think Tom Hopper would be a good choice too.

He sure doesn’t look the part. And let’s face it…looking the part is 90 percent of He Mans character.

I'm not a fan of people that bump threads with gossip. Chris Hemsworth or Henry Cavill being rumoured for any role known to man is not news.

Do I need to remind you that 80s Ralph Macchio was hardly Vinnie Jones either.

The juxtaposition of He-Man and Merkel does hurt the mind's eye but Hollywood loves the nerd. Ralph Macchio was the non-alpha. I don't think Hollywood is very happy with a big guy especially blonde. I think the lack of the clothing is only gay if you lean that direction. I suspect most people don't think "gay" when they see Tarzan.
Prince Adam was presented as a kind of gay character or given a wimpy voice even though he still looked the same.

I'm surprised Schwarzenneger was never cast as He-Man for the 80s live action movie, that would have been the most obvious choice. I guess they just didn't want it to look like a retread of Conan the Barbaraian. The actual guy that played him in the movie (Dolph Lundgren) was just kind of a second-stringer Schwarzenneger anyways.

Also how about Ian McDermaid for Skeletor? He was great as the Emperor in ROTJ, that would have been an easy transition for him.

Let's not give current Hollywood too hard of time though. Besides Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Langella as Skeletor, the 1980's movie is terrible. And Dolph is pretty terrible.

Frank Langella is great, and he wanted to reveal more blue skin (and he said he was in great shape) to make it more like the cartoon but the filmmakers refused. They chose to defer from the origin too much.
