Why? None of the 'modern re-makes' of films set in the past has been any good. They've all bombed at the box office I think. I don't think this will do any better. Why not just do something similar but set in modern times and not with the connotation and expectation that calling it a modern re-telling of 'The Three Musketeers' brings?

It's time to put King Arthur, Robin Hood, and The Three Musketeers away for about 30 years. Give us a chance to miss them. I like movies in that vein. But if they're gonna keep trying to make them 'hip' when they always fared better otherwise, then yeah give it a rest.
