Things I like about the movie.
The opening fight scene. The Pussywagon and the foot scene. The acting from most of the cast, especially Uma Thurman. Sonny Chiba's cameo and the honzo sword. The motorcycle scene. The anime sequence. The basic story idea. The reference to Bruce Lee. The music, especially the brilliant use of Bernard Herrmann's score for Twisted Nerve (1967). For me the entire soundtrack is topnotch. Almost all the tracks work for each scene they’re presented in. Death Proof is just trashy fun. It's fucking Kurt Russell killing and stalking women with his muscle car and it has one of the greatest extended car chase sequences in movie history. The entire second half is practically one long car chase and the very ending is comedy gold. I definitely understand why many people dislike and even hate the movie, but I am a big fan.

The movies it is paying homage to aren't exactly classy intelligent cinema.
