Any fans of the "Van Halen II" album by Van Halen? Can you believe it's now 40 years old? You can't imagine the undertaking Van Halen went through to follow-up their groundbreaking first album in only one year. But with a pretty solid set of songs, the group just did that with Van Halen II. While not a masterpiece like the first album, it's still a pretty solid follow-up and showed that Van Halen had the chops to stay for the long run. People mainly remember this album for songs like "Dance The Night Away" and "Beautiful Girls", but the album tracks really give the album some meat like "Women in Love", "Somebody Call Me a Doctor", Light Up The Sky" and "D.O.A.". The band members are once again in top form with Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth showing just how good of a guitar player (Spanish Fly for example) and front man they ended up becoming. That's not to discredit Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony who have their moments to shine on the album. I'd probably have this album in the top 3 Van Halen albums of not only the David Lee Roth era, but also of the entire band's career.

It is a classic follow up. Probably #3 behind I and Fair Warning.

It is a classic follow up. Probably #3 behind I and Fair Warning. I'd have I, II and 1984 as my top 3 Van Halen albums.
