Thing is some of the movies are about prostitutes and brothels and some are about saloon girls and, as the articles say, they are not necessarily the same thing. You seem very anxious to defend the honor of non-hooking saloon girls, BAT. Is your ancestry involved? We are all friends here. No-one will hold it against you. This OPINION PIECE thread elicited a reply from isapop with a link which inspired a deeper look by me into saloon girls vs prostitution in the real vs the cinematic old west. What I found is covered in earlier posts The insistence that Miss Kitty (in a television program) was definitely a madam in a saloon based brothel is (imo) based on pure speculation and the mind set of ther original poster. If an interest in researching such opinion only claims and if posting links to fact based articles is offensive to other posters, there is really nothing I can do about that. I enjoy "researching" and adding to all sorts of threads from many posters, both in support of information and occasionally to refute it. I enjoy answering questions and helping with the "how do I" type inquiries. Cannot help if that is seen by some as trolling. I feel that your comment, quoted above, concerning my ancestry was un-needed and totally out-of-line. It served only as an attempt to embarrass and was intended to provoke a reply in kind. Sorry to disappoint you, again.
