I could probably list a couple dozen... There have been many talented hotties working in Hollywood in the last century... LOL!
But If I had to name... JUST ONE... Well...
This thread reminds me of a similar discussion, that was on the old IMDb message boards for the movie:
The Question Was Asked:
So... Who Is MY "Elise"?
(This is a similar reply, to that of my original response...)
Ginger Rogers. She was born in 1911, and died in 1995, at the age of 83... Almost 24 years ago... Oddly, when she died, I was 20 years old, but I didn't know anything at all about her... Except for the possibility, that I had heard her name before, and only that she was widely known for the TEN musicals that she made with Fred Astaire, around the 1930s... I don't recall having seen any of her films when I was growing up, and I would not have had any interest to do so, since I've never been a big fan of "musicals"!... But, Thankfully, Ginger Rogers made many other films, that were NOT in the Musical Genre.
In the latter half of 2015...
I purchased one of those "
50 Classic Horror Movies" DVD sets, because I wanted to see the original "
Phantom Of The Opera". Another one of the included movies was:
"A Shriek In The Night" (1933). I saw that it starred "Ginger Rogers", and recognized her name (only).... I thought I would give the movie a look... I'm glad I did!
While watching the film, Ginger Rogers instantly caught my eye, and I realized how TALENTED & BEAUTIFUL this Lady was. When the movie was over... I had this urge to learn about her life & career... I eventually watched those TEN Fred Astaire musicals, but, as I expected, I didn't really find much about those films to enjoy... However, The beautiful and talented Actress, Dancer, & Singer was definitely one of the few highlights of those films...
I have since been able to see and enjoy many of the other movies that she made... And in my opinion, I also think she was an amazing singer! She released a couple of LP Record Albums, and here is her 1978 recording of "Embraceable You". (My favorite song she sang):
I can totally understand why the studios kept casting her as the lead star in their films, and why audiences kept buying tickets to see them!
After learning about her personal life, as well, I realized I have a crush on the woman too... AND... I just keep wanting to learn more and see more of her.
She held her youthful beauty well into her late 60s and early 70s, so it's very hard to find any pictures of her, except perhaps in her last few years, where she wasn't extremely attractive... However, in my opinion, she had the most expressive & beautiful sparkling blue eyes that I have ever seen. I have trouble taking my eyes off of her eyes when I see her movies or any pictures of her, even in her final years.
If I had never seen the movie "A Shriek In The Night" (1933), I highly doubt, I would even seen any of her films, and Ginger Rogers would have never become my favorite actress (and dancer) of all time.
