Yeah, but you put down Mary Beth Hurt from "Interiors", so that kind of cancels out your POV. These are from memory and I have seen most of these movies ONCE. Are you under the impression that your opinions and only people that agree are opinions you are the only opinions that matter? If that is the case then I don't care about your opinion about me or anything else.

Though I did get the impression that you were stating your opinion about Melanie Griffith's acting. So, yeah, it goes both ways Cheers!

Instead of responding to me, maybe you should have just listed your own favorite performances like everybody else instead of responding to me through another reply. When you do that it seems that you are looking for a response of my opinion and I gave it. Working Girl (and to a lesser extent Something Wild) are her only performances I am a fan of. In fact I wasn't overly impressed with her in Working Girl either, which is why that performance is last on my list.

Why shouldn't I state my opinion about my like for Melanie Griffith? You brought up 1988, MG was nominated as Best Actress that year, it was relevant. Obviously, a response from you was welcomed. Why not? That's a big part of what these boards are for. I don't see the problem.

Mia Farrow - "Death on the Nile" Jamie Lee Curtis - "Halloween" (More for the nostalgia/sentimental aspect, though JLC was pretty good.) Carrie Snodgrass - "The Fury" Veronica Cartwright - "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" Lee Grant -"Damien: Omen 2" Genevieve Bujold - "Coma" (probably my fave lead performance from the year.) Maureen Stapleton - "Interiors" Meryl Streep - "The Deer Hunter" special nod to Miss June Fairchild, aka "The Ajax Lady"!!!! I know most of these are supporting, but I could not think of that many lead actress performances that I really liked. Face palm. You criticized me for listing Mary Beth Hurt (don't remember if she is lead or supporting) and then say you can't even think of 5 lead performances to even list and you say you don't take my opinion seriously?

You complained when I gave my opposing opinion. That is the problem. You didn't only complain, you basically spit on my opinion.

You complained when I gave my opposing opinion. That is the problem. You didn't only complain, you basically spit on my opinion. And I thought it was the 1978 thread (for obvious reasons). I would like to apologize to you for coming on strong regarding your opinion on MBH. It's IMDB, there should be room for some levity, I did get a little snarky, don't take me too seriously here, no hard feelings. Obviously you can like whomever you like. I just really, really did not like MBH's character in "Interiors". She was so cold and nasty to the Maureen Stapleton character, whom I loved.

I think that is the sign of a terrific performance if Hurt elicited those feelings in you Mr. Dirty. She is a fascinating character that Allen crafted. She couldn't find herself and was also dealing with the burden of feeling the rest of her family had left it up to her to placate\humor their cold and controlling mother, who couldn't get her s<>t together either.
Yes, Stapleton was a revelation. I loved Pearl too. As you know, I am a big fan of Interiors and love the entire thing.
