Harvey Keitel - The Duellists Isn´t he lead with Keith Carradine? I'd have to rewatch it be sure, but I felt it focused more on Carradine's character.

Alec Guinness - Star Wars Peter Firth - Equus Colin Blakely - Equus Harrison Ford - Star Wars Carl Jurgens - The Spy Who Loved Me Richard Kiel - The Spy Who Loved Me Harvey Korman - High Anxiety I find it amusing that you list Peter Firth in supporting after questioning jcush for putting Keitel supporting. Peter Firth is unquestionably co-lead imo.

I really thought Peter Firth was co-lead, until I found this: "Equus Nominations" Academy Award for Best Actor 1978 · Richard Burton Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role 1978 · Peter Firth

Do you consider Jamie Foxx supporting in Collateral just because the Oscars nominated him in Supporting? He is the main character. Ok, I´ll answer this question after watching Collateral. You haven't seen Collateral? You need to watch it immediately. It's an awesome movie. My point is that the Oscars often nominate actors in the wrong category. There are many examples of this. The reason for this is to ensure a nomination for certain actors and to avoid splitting the vote. They often will nominate newcomers in supporting even if they are lead if there is a famous actor who is co-lead in the same movie. Peter Firth is actually a good example of this.

Another example is Timothy Hutton won best supporting actor for Ordinary People, but he's clearly the lead. (Sorry to jump into your conversation with marth.)

Timothy Hutton and Jamie Foxx are probably the two most extreme examples of category fraud in Oscar history.
