If you seriously askng and not just trolling I could harbor a guess. I haven't seen the movie but most kids I've known in foster care aren't as "mature" as they act. They use it is an armor against the constant hurt they receive. Even if treated well in a good facility or with foster parents they have to deal with the fact that they have either lost their primary caregivers and no extended family wanted them or no extended family.
This armor is stripped away when he gets the power of a god and reveals the joyous teen that anyone would be given the powers of a god. Even the most hardened and mature teen would react in child like wonder.
If you can folks volunteer at orphanages and/or with groups that help foster kids/families. One of the few things my Mom made me do growing up that stuck. (She was in an out of orphanages when her Mom's Boyfriends didn't want kids around and her lazy Dad didn't have any Money for food.)

.....the disillusioned teen who transforms into him? They got it right. Both actors had the same behavior. It was the same with the others as well.
