Renner trained with Olympic archers. Stop being such a jackass... Where's the proof? I certainly don't see it in his form. Which olympic archer did he train with? Most actors who train with professional archers provide the name of the archer or school they worked with. And I'd appreciate it if we avoided name calling. I'm pointing out a valid criticism here. If you don't agree with it then fine, but there's no need to get ugly. The PROOF? Are you kidding? Is this something that needs to be proved? Hell maybe his directors told him to do it differently because they didn't think 'the right way' looked good on camera?
You want NAMES? Get lost. Who would complain about this anyway? Maybe 1 wanker out of 10,000 people would say anything. Sad.

Well they don't, so that's not much of an argument now is it? Exactly, they don't. Why? Because they put in the time to train to at least be a bit believable in their skill. But those pics are the equivalent of what Renner's Hawkeye looks like in terms of archery skill. How do you know so much about fighting styles and archery technique? I meant to ask before, but forgot all about it until just now.

Yeah, I've always questioned that as well. His form is way off for someone who supposedly trained with Olympic archers. Anyway it's not a big deal and I don't think you were trying to make it one. No, I wasn't making it such a big deal, at least that wasn't my intent. That's why I made it clear I was just ranting. I just wanted to point it out. It's been a talking point going back to the first Avengers flick. In some scenes it was passable but it's like they gave up at some point. Keep in mind how much CGI is in some of those battle scenes against the Chitauri where he's jumping off of roofs and whatnot. I always gave it a pass because the situations were so unconventional. Still, I thought it odd that they allegedly bothered having him train with archers if they were just going to throw it out and improvise on the set.

Agreed, or it just made more sense in terms of shooting the scene to wing it instead of going for perfect form every time. Anyway chill out dude, he was just making an observation.

I meant to ask before, but forgot all about it until just now. I grew up in a family clan where sons (especially first born sons) were required to study some form of martial art. I started with boxing and kickboxing when I was 7 and added arnis/escrima and muay thai later on. My cousins studied other martial arts, and whenever we had family reunions we'd compare styles and sparred with each other. I guess that's how I started learning about other styles. In my late teens I studied grappling when the UFC started becoming popular. Then in my late 20's I wanted a martial art that didn't hurt as much as boxing and muay thai (because those two are ridiculously gruelling)... which got me learning HEMA (historical swordplay) and traditional archery (even did a bit of kyudo). Of all the martial arts I learned, archery is the only one I still continue to do. Too many injuries to maintain the others... plus I just got lazy. I never really got that good with any one of them, I'm kind of like a jack of all trades guy.

I noticed it already in the first Avengers but didn't mind it too much. I'm not unreasonable, I know it's not realistic to expect Hollywood archers to have perfect form. But it seems to keep getting worse with each passing film, and here I thought he'd improve as the films progress instead of getting worse. Again, not such a big deal, but it just feels out of place considering how much care the MCU puts into their fight scenes and how much effort the actors put into learning a bit of fighting skill for their roles.

Oh so Valkyrie is in this one, looks like she survived the snap then.
So where was she in Infinity War when Thanks showed up on the ship?

Oh so Valkyrie is in this one, looks like she survived the snap then. So where was she in Infinity War when Thanks showed up on the ship? Probably leading the evacuation of the refugees. I mean, she's really the only person of "rank" left. Thor, Loki, Heimdall and even Hulk were all in the fight against Thanos. That leaves Valkyrie, Korg and Miek to organize the refugees for escape, and I'm not sure you'd want to trust something like that to Korg and Miek.

I thought he was dead, but turns out he's fine. We are going to get on these little ships because there is this big Purple guy shooting at us.
