I love the end of October start of November: NFL and college football in full swing, the World Series, basketball starting, plus my favorite holiday in Halloween. Awesome time of the year!!

I agree dude.
if you're a sports fan you can pretty much find any reason to love any time of the year.
we've gone through a nasty cold winter here - and I don't mind the cold but there comes a time where 'enough is enough' and you just want temps in the 50s or 60s on a daily basis
for the above for me - my ancestors are irish, I love march madness and the thrill of college basketball - it marks the start of warmer temps coming this way......

I agree dude. if you're a sports fan you can pretty much find any reason to love any time of the year. we've gone through a nasty cold winter here - and I don't mind the cold but there comes a time where 'enough is enough' and you just want temps in the 50s or 60s on a daily basis for the above for me - my ancestors are irish, I love march madness and the thrill of college basketball - it marks the start of warmer temps coming this way...... Then Wrestlemania.

Mine too - I go back and forth on this this between Turkey day and Christmas.
To me - Halloween - Christmas is the greatest time of the year for an expanded season. (sports season too)
But if you want a 'short rush' - i.e like a month of just partying - it's now - St. Paddy's Day/March Madness/MLB Starting

I'd agree with treefrog. My favorite sporting event is the NCAA, more than the football or baseball playoffs (yes, even baseball). And, now the winter is over (almost). In October, winter is beckoning.

I love Halloween. I like Thanksgiving a lot as well, all day NFL, I didn’t like it as much as a kid because I had to spend time with family and my family is shit for the most part, but I’ve loved it since I’ve gotten old enough to avoid family. I like the time of the year around Christmas, but I’ve never liked Christmas, I’ve never been religious so I think it’s stupid and I hate all of the shopping, the obligation to get presents for people who you don’t give a fuck about for the rest of the year, spending time with family etc. And there are usually no sports on on Christmas Day except for the NBA, which makes it a boring day. The worst holiday by a long way is Valentine’s Day, it should be abolished. The worst time of the year for sports is July/August, absolutely nothing on but MLB.

nice to see you like Halloween and turkey day - you're a staple on this board dude...
it's good to read your posts - I mean even if you don't agree with somebody (i.e. like how I want a Sweet 16 in College Football) - it kind of makes it like a family over the years during the holidays - you may not agree with everything and everybody - but happy to see everybody.
