We don't have that in the NJB. It says 'fill'. Isn't 'replenenish' a mistranslation in the Protestant KJV? Haven't they corrected it yet?

"Isn't 'replenenish' a mistranslation"
I think it is...as the words are currently used. I guess in the days of the KJV the word they used was sometimes synonymous with just "fill" even if now it tends to mean re-fill.

And you accuse me of telling you what you believe. Philosophers and even atheists discuss the Bible. It doesn't have to have anything to do with religion. I am only repeating what you said. Great. Now you know what replenish means. Great thread. An improvement I must say! Good, because I have no doubt you're as clueless about the book of Genesis as you and your scientist twits are about consciousness.

Are you a part of this whole anti-science thing that seems to be sweeping some sections of US society?

if your referring to text in a holy book, you just make up the definition as your agenda changes to fit your current needs. it's easier that way and it's worked for christians since jesus bailed.

i've been workin' on the payload
after trillions of dollars had been leeched from every tom dick and butcher holler through out the united states of hysteria it was concluded by unanimous dissent that even though your money is yours to vent you can't expect just any old democracy to circumvent every known tax code because you believe your god invented the loop hole right after he raped adam for not paying his fair share of the rent.
sjw 04/01/19 inspired at this very moment in time by oh lordie lordie where is all that there money disappearing to.

If Adam and Eve were the only people on Earth, had two sons first before Seth, then who did Cain marry when he left the family after he murdered Abel? He had run away, then married. How can only two people 'replenish' an entire planet in such a short period of time?

Wow, after only two thousand years (give or take a few centuries here and there) it is OUR Heeeeey that has found the fatal flaw in its logic! I knew she could do it!

Yeah, but the 'failed logic' is in the interpretation, not the story. It doesn't say that they were the only people on Earth.

Maybe you could make a thread about it!

Doesn't it mean that something came before, and now it needs to be 're'plenished? That's not how I see it. I see it as meaning that something was empty and now is replenished, meaning full.

The reason for the question is to illustrate how the Bible is misinterpreted, even though the information is right there. Clearly, Adam and Eve were not the first humans on Earth. Not according to evolutionary theory anyway.
