When they post a gif or whatever it's called and it's disturbing? Violent or whatever. It's uncalled for and out of place. Do I mind violent stuff? No, but there's a time and a place for it, ummm ok? I don't mind if y'all post gifs, so long as it's not disturbing and or violent. In fact, remind me to notify the admin. or whatever it's called on this site. And I'll let them know.

Well disturbing and violent is all a matter of perspective.

Yes, BUT
Some of the gifs are not "subjectively" violent. Some are ToS violation level of "violence" which are intended to be disturbing.
"Disturbing" is subjective but it is quite easy to use spoiler on violent images and gifs so that they can be viewed or not (if you feel a need to challenge the ToS tolerance limits )
Often the thread titles give no hint as to what might be there and so the violence is not expected. Once seen, they cannot be unseen.
Have seen so called jokes and jibes about "triggering" but very violent images are real triggers and may not be amusing or entertaining to all
Being disturbed by images of violence and / or gore is not a question of "maturity" … it is often a result of real life experiences.
<not looking to argue or further discuss this … making an observation and a suggestion>

Let me tell you something, nothing gets you ready to see disturbing things like going to an art exhibition about the complete work of Robert Mapplethorpe.

Nobody just walks off the street into an exhibition on the complete work of Robert Mapplethorpe with absolutely no idea what his oeuvre involved.

Nobody just walks off the street into an exhibition on the complete work of Robert Mapplethorpe with absolutely no idea what his oeuvre involved. I doubt people just saw the ad and decided to go to the museum like that but the ads were only about his floral work and the celebrities portraits. That's probably what drew people to the exhibition. The only other pictures they had in their ads were about some very light fetish stuff.
The first 2-3 rooms were all about the celebrities portraits then you had the option to walk through an improvised hallway and into the floral work and some more or less artistic nudes or to pass the doorways into the other stuff. The improvised hallway was made of 2 temporary walls made to hide most of the BDSM stuff. There were signs saying that what was displayed there was for adults only and could be disturbing to some people. You could just walk to the next room without seeing anything too disturbing.
While I never felt sick, there were stuff that you wouldn't display in your living to put it this way. Still the most disturbing part was probably when I caught a security guard of the museum, masturbating to a clip Mapplethorpe made with some nude ladies in it.
I guess some there was something for everyone there... I walked in knowing more or less what to expect and it delivered. Got to admit that his floral work is beautiful.
