Well, I'm pissed. Tried purchasing through the Fandango app because I have a $5 Fandango credit, and after sitting through a 9 minute wait time I put in all my info (I had to re-sign into my Fandango account, which was weird because I'm always signed in), then clicked PURCHASE, and it took me to a screen that had the info of the showtime I'd chosen, but NO ticket upc code. I didn't get an email confirming my purchase, and I checked my banking app and I don't see a purchase there. Decided to sign into the Fandango website to try again (rather than the app), and I have an hour wait time.

I got the run around on Cinemark once and I missed out on my favorite reserved seats because of it. Still got tickets, though. I'd be pissed too, hope you get your tix soon.

I had to get six seats together, my normal theater was already sold out so I tried the local AMC cinema. I was using Fandango, and when I went to select my seats I was re-directed to an AMC screen which told me I was "In line for tickets, there is an hour wait"...fortunately I still had Fandango up in another browser and tried a Marcus cinema. Selected my seats, submitted my payment info, and got an error message. Had to go back and do it all over again, and wound up with seats a lot closer to the screen than I like...but at least I'm in.

Hopefully it's just a website/computer problem I'm not waiting that long.

Update: so, after waiting more than an hour, it was finally my turn...only to get a "this showtime is no longer available" message. I checked every showtime through the following Friday, and get "this showtime is no longer available" with every single one I clicked on. (I'mthinking it might be a glitch because iirc if a showtime is sold out that time should be grayed out on Fandango, but none of them are grayed out.) Trying to connect to live chat for help on Fandango, but even that has a ~30 minute wait time. I did everything right and I'm still sitting here with a sore ass from the screwing Fandango is giving me.
EDIT: the wait time to connect to the live chat is going UP instead of down. I'm now at 47:00 wait time.
Another Update: having no luck on the Atom app either. Going to see if I get lucky on the AMC website.
Yet another update: the AMC website won't even load.

I tried to check out times on the website of one of my local cinemas, and when I clicked on the 'book now' option, it gave me an error 503, which suggests a lot of people were using it at once. Then I was able to access it, and when I went to check times out for the cinema in my area, it just buffered. So I think this must be to do with lots of people booking at once, which surely means that it will break the record for biggest opening weekend.

Yeah a lot of showings near me are completely sold out.
Thankfully I already have my Imax ticket, but it was insane how fast those showings sold out.
I would not be surprised if this film did break opening records.

Yeah I got my tickets just fine earlier today, but since reading about how much trouble everyone was having I tried to look up showtimes again on my Cinemark app. It took forever to open and eventually told me it couldn't list showtimes at this time. The demand is too much for the system to handle across the board, it seems. Glad I got my tickets, I feel for you guys though.

I would not be surprised if this film did break opening records. With a runtime over 3 hours, think of how many screens it'll demand at any given cinema to break the opening weekend record. And I think it will.

Is that how it is in US?
Here in UK I'll just show up on the first day, pick a seat and that's about it.

Doubt you can just walk upto a screening on opening day and get a ticket - unless your in a remote part of the country.

Update # : On the Atom website now it just says, "AMC is experiencing technical difficulties, please try later." Unfortunately the AMC in my town is aslo the ONLY theater in my town. Oh, and still waiting for that live chat on Fandango.

Doubt you can just walk upto a screening on opening day and get a ticket - unless your in a remote part of the country. I go to see pretty much all the big movies on the first day or first few days of release and I've never had to preorder any ticket, I show up and just pick a seat and that's it. Never had any problems. It ain't remote either, it's in the middle of West Midlands, a big Showcase Cinema. The only exception I ever had was recently with Dragon Ball Super Broly where every seat was sold out so I had to book one but that was a special case.

Update #1,001: finally got to the #1 slot in the live chat queue, only to get a message that says, "There are no agents available to chat with you right now. Please try again later."
