What's the opinion on this second sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark? After the batshit craziness of Temple of Doom, this one looks positively mellow by comparison. Key to the film's success is the great chemistry between Ford and Connery. Also love those Spielberg gags like the librarian stamping books or that great cut from Phoenix to Ford with the fedora.

It’s a charming film with great performances and a lot of adventure. Also a great conclusion to the trilogy.

All three of the originals are awesome. This one always surprises me with how good the action is. Not as good as Raiders or as crazy as Doom, but a great movie.

Still my favorite Indy movie. Charming and epic never had a better match.

Saw it opening day I recall. I had a complete blackout on it so I wouldn't know what the story was about (I realize the title kind of gives it away but still). Met someone from school in line who gave away the plot.
Too much humor. The ending didn't have the pizazz of the first. The desert scenes reminded me of Rambo 3. But they should have ended it there.

The desert scenes reminded me of Rambo 3. I read somewhere Rambo and Indy use the same horse.

I read somewhere Rambo and Indy use the same horse. LOL I thought there was something else familiar about the scenes. Rambo 3 was partly shot in Israel and Last Crusade in Jordan so close geographically too.

The Indy humor is one of the plus factors for me in the whole series. Does Crusade have more humor in it than the others ?

I think there is too much humor in the first too-but in the Last Crusade it reaches a new extreme. The sultan guy with the car was a particularly annoying bit that took me out of it. And Brody.

It could have been arguably the best trilogy (besides the original Star Wars trilogy) if they had just stopped there. But no, they had to fuck it up with Shia, space aliens, and a fridge. And now there's even talks of another one.

Great movie, and a welcome return to the more light-hearted and fun spirit of the original after the darker ToD.

The best of the sequels and for a time, I used to rank it above Raiders.

I liked it. Adding Sean Connery as a sort of opposite Bond, clumsy and inpractical, but smart at the same time. I also liked that Denholm Elliot's character was expanded.

I like it a lot, and Ford and Connery are great together, but I prefer Raiders and ToD. Adding in all the backstory kind of takes away from the mystique of the Indy character, and it’s all a bit too close to Raiders. That said, and even though I like all the Indy movies (even Crystal Skull), this was a good end to the original three. I also like Brody’s expanded role (though he becomes a parody of himself here) and the challenges at the end.

My favorite of the three films. It barely edges out Raiders mainly due to the fact I've always been fascinated by the Holy Grail and the Crusades, plus it has Sir Sean Connery in it. I think the real crime is not that they should have stopped at 3 but that they didn't make another film within about 4 or 5 years instead of waiting for 15+ years.
