I'd rather support a Claire Denis horror instead of a big dumb superhero movie

The basic description ironically sounds like a high brow artsy version of SS in space. Minus the gyrating Cara.

omg this was bad. a really terrible experience. i presume thats what the director wanted though. she is skilled enough to get the results she wants...
gross gross ugly movie. i wonder why brings something like that into the world. frenchness all the way.
i do respect Patinsons commitent to the role though.

I would still be willing to see this. This sounds like it would be hard film to market that's why the trailers seemed so abstract. A space-related movie I'm actually looking forward to is Lucy in the Sky with Natalie Portman, Jon Hamm and Dan Stevens.

A space-related movie I'm actually looking forward to is Lucy in the Sky with Natalie Portman, Jon Hamm and Dan Stevens. I am sure a movie like this will easily find its fans. Its very “artsy” (to me it felt too artsy for the sake of beingn artsy” and its quite ugly (one critic called it “repulsive”) . A lot of people say it “explores humanity.” To me it does none of that. It shows a very cliche mix of completelly predictable things (yeah guess just try to guess how are death row/lifetime criminals going to behave on a suicide mission in space) with laughable over the top sexualisation of certain scenes and in its frenchness includes a close up/full frontal of a baby vulva (why, why? it served no purpose to the story or characters, why was it slapped there at all, onto the unsuspecting audience??) humans are reduced to completelly one dimensional beings there with very little possibility for the audience to connect to any of it. when the interesting part (that Actually could explore more of humanity) starts its 100 minutes in and the movie is about to end. but like i said i can see why some people would like it and i am sure the director presents to us what she wanted. sad that this is what she wanted. not to mention to ridiculousness of Pattinsons EVA (one would say they didnt have a consulting expert from ESA but they did) or the masturbation scene (you dont do that when a piece of Steel is inside you. Please.. It looked like if a guy who likes bad porn but sidnt have much knowledge of how womans body work directed it.

5/10 If I understood it correctly, the movie took place in 2 timelines, one happening 20 or so years after the other, right? Then why does Robert Pattinson look the same in both? What does that even mean? includes a close up/full frontal of a baby vulva You mean at the beginning? The camera showed the baby's whole body (minus the head) and her father's hands. Yes, her vagina was visible, but it clearly wasn't the focus.
