Three that I quite enjoyed: Paper MoonAlready listed by Staccato and premiering the year after the film, it followed the further adventures of Addie (Jodie Foster) and Moses (Chris Connelly, who had played the film's star Ryan O'Neal's younger brother on Peyton Place). Weird Science I liked this much more than the film: wry one minute; wacky the next, and imbuing the three main characters with more charm than their film counterparts. Stargate SG-1This long-running show supplanted the film's grimness with its own quirky warmth, and went off in all directions, going from epic battles for survival to out-and-out satire, and exploiting the full range of story possibilities for space-and-time travel.

Kolchak: The Night Stalker I really enjoyed the two TV movies (The Night Stalker & The Night Strangler) and the following tv series. “A planned third installment in the franchise, 'The Night Killers', was scripted but ABC opted to develop the TV series instead of continuing the films.”IMDbGrew up watching the likes of Stargate: SG-1, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

I guess if The Thin Man and Tarzan qualify for this list I can throw in Zorro. I got a kick out of that show when I was much younger. (I haven't seen it in decades. I imagine it might seem silly now.) Of course it was the Disney version so it was clean family fun. I love how the studio managed to work Annette Funicello into the story. I thought the world of Guy Williams. Between Zorro and Lost in Space I realize how much he inspired me. I think he should have been a bigger star. He was damn good looking.

I agree, jervis. I very much enjoyed ZORRO, too. It was lots of fun when I was a kid. Not sure what I'd think today, but that doesn't matter to me in the end. I enjoyed it then, it mattered then, and that's enough for me today.
