leaving a job now would mean having an operation to remove a chip ?? Taking out a bio-chip is outpatient. Small local, small nick and some forceps. Boom. Although I imagine once the tech gets more refined an existing, permanent chip could be adapted to any new job or activity.

What happens if an employee refuses to get a chip. How will he get paid? How will he be able to open the doors mentioned in the article?
What happens if the power goes out in the building, how will people get through the doors?
Seriously, What is wrong with Payroll Checks, Cash, and Keys?

They didn't tell us the future involved forceps ... It's not as appealing now haha

Probably screw your hand up more than the chip. You can run a current through an SSD without screwing it up.
Again: solid state drives. We've begun to move beyond data that can be messed up via magnet.
Not really sure, but if someone is setting off EMPs then chips in one's hand are probably going to be a tangential worry.

It's based on personal willingness to adopt, the article clearly says that not everyone in the company has one and it is not compulsory, also there is no mention that the chip has anything to do with payroll.

I don't think I'll be an early adopter on this tech. Oh, come on. You could be a pioneer. You could set an example for the rest of the Herd to follow. For those of you not in the know, ErJen using the word Herd capitalised is the result of someone trying to explain Herd Immunity to him and only succeeding in getting his YouTube conspiracy theory juices flowing.

I forgot all about that. Those were the fresh, young days of budding conspiracy.

Is there anything one can say to Erjen that doesn't get his conspiracy theory juices flowing? "Morning Erjen, nice day today isn't it?" "It's sunny because the Earth's axis is tipping over! It's the Illuminati! The Bilderbergs! It's NIBIRU! WE'RE ALL DOOMED! DOOMED! AND YOU DESERVE IT, YOU VERMIN!!!!!!!!!!"

People have been bio-hacking for almost a decade now. Those days are gone. Once the tech gets more refined and we can oversee firewalls and safeguards to our own standards, I'll be on board. I'm a big fan of tech augmentation. Hope you have fun with that. Include me out. When I was much younger I saw a movie entitled "Cyborg 2087." It was science-fiction then but now it seems a bit prophetic, as does "The Terminator."

It always bothered me that the Terminator called himself a cyborg. He's really not. He's a robot, covered in human skin. It's like calling a guy in a suit of armour a cyborg.
