Checked out a few minutes of it to see what all the hype was about. Boresville. Pick up the pace a bit, will ya? Sheesh.

I would say you were overrated but everyone knows you suck. There Will Be Blood is a movie Chads and Alphas enjoy, so naturally you would think it was overrated.

It was for a while after it came out. Not that I dislike the film, but people were saying it'd be ranked with Citizen Kane as the best movie ever made and the defining movie of the 2000s. Now that hype seems to have fizzled a bit and I barely even see people talk about it anymore.
But it's a very good movie and more accurately rated now.

Probably Paul Thomas Anderson’s best film, even surpassing Boogie Nights.

I can't stand 99% of movies made in my lifetime, but not that one... It's great -- the story of early "capitalism", probably another tribute to Robert Altman (McCabe and Mrs. Miller) with a little bit of Upton Sinclair's "Oil" (first 100-150 pages anyway)

Agreed.
p.s. Day-Lewis is generally overrated around here to.

I used to dislike it but it's grown (barely) on me.

I think it features one of the best performances ever put on film . The direction and score is on point as well. PT Anderson is actually pretty hit or miss for me, but with There Will Be Blood he knocked it out of the park here.

I don't agree. I think it's damn near a masterpiece. Not underrated, not overrated, just right.

Don't give up on a movie, it might surprise you. I watched enough to see it going at a snail's pace. And then I read about what an asshole Plainville is and what an awful man. So I'm not missing out on anything.

I should probably watch it again before I form a complete opinion on it... But I despised it the first time. And I appreciate slow burning movies. I love Citizen Kane and many other slow paced classics. But this one was too pretentious and just had that really off-putting lugubriousness that almost all 21rst century Oscar bait movies seem to have. I could barely get through it.

It’s a 10/10. Alpha self destruction with power and greed, holding on to the American Dream till it’s the last thing he has. Epic stuff, and this along with Wolf of Wall Street have got to be two of my favorite recent American greats.
