Also couple that with Ron Pearlman not being in it.

Just watched the trailer today(damn its IMDb page!) and sorry but theres only one guy that can play Hellboy and this new one is turned up to 11 with the cgi. But I hope it does well for Neil Marshalls sake anyway

Also couple that with Ron Pearlman not being in it. And there is no hype for this movie. There is more hype for the joker movie which comes out in October.

It looks like a failure.

which is actually good cuz it will prove that sequels reboots and comic book movies aren't always the way to go. Even though movies like ghost Busters and ninja turtles 2 have already proved that.

Oh God. People are really bitter AF that the Del Toro didn't finish the trilogy even though there were all kinds of problems that prevented a third film from being made. Not to mention, David Harbour is being bashed because he's not Ron Perlman. Even he said that he could never portray Hellboy the way Ron did.
I do agree that the release date is rather terrible and they probably should've released it in October. But all of this hate and bashing on this movie all because of the previous films and previous actor is unnecessary.

This movie is a disgrace and it will be very inconvenient for me when I see on the TV guide Hellboy is on but it's this crap factory of a movie.

I get that a lot of people are still upset that the first two films didn’t get a third film to finish off that story arc and that Ron didn’t return. I was also miffed about that too. Unfortunately, when a film in a franchise stalls for years for any reasons, that isn’t a good sign. I wish they would’ve found some way around the issues and made the third film with Ron. Yet, it didn’t happen. But it’s extremely wrong that people are judging the new film and the new actor portraying the character all because there was no true closure to the last one.

As for Perlman, if there's one thing this film has in its favor, it's David Harbour. He looks better than I expected.

From what I've seen so far, I love what I see of him as the character. He's hilarious and badass. But hey, that's just me.

Still frustrated that we never got a Hellboy 3 with Ron Perlman, but I'm open to a reboot if it's done well.
This new one gives me a mixed reaction. Harbour seems fine and the presence of Ian McShane is always welcome, but everything else seems like the same old stuff we already saw in De Toro's two films. I'll check it out since I'm a fan of the character, but not expecting much.

Sandwiched between Shazam and endgame. This pointless reboot will bomb. Agreed.
I also feel that it hurts Shazam as well. I think the general audience is super heroed out while they wait for Endgame.
There was only room for one super hero movie this spring, and that was Captain Marvel, especially with its connection to Endgame.

Captain Marvel's release date timing was perfect, basically no competition for 3 weeks. Hellboy oh boy

I honestly wonder if Hellboy 3 would've been made before this film that there would be less anger and hate. SMH.
